This afternoon, I made plans to meet up with AfroStar for a ride.

We hoped to get a few more folks but it ended up being me on my M900 with my friend Masha riding pillion, and him on his gorgeous S4RS.

We met up at Jamaica Pond in Jamaica Plain and took backroads to MotoMarket. We weren't out too long (about two and a half hours) but the scenery was amazing. If anyone still has the itch to ride and hasn't taken their bike out amongst the fall foliage - I HIGHLY recommend it. October is my favorite month of the year and October in New England is hard to beat. Go see those leaves, people!

I'll leave it to AfroStar to comment on the actual route we took, as I was following him, but hopefully we can do this one or two more times before it gets too cold and/or snowy.

It would be awesome to get a group of us on a "final fall ride" or something. Anyone interested?

What backroads did you take out to MotoMarket? I'm looking for something other than RT2 to head out that way.

You may want to alter the ride title to  use the word autumn...or a disclaimer about fall not being a verb...

just sayin'.  ;)

I think this only pertains to rides of which you are a participant.  ;)

The Ride was great, two black Monsters rolling thru the twisty streets up to Motomarket.  We met a few BMW loyalists who love Ducati.  [thumbsup]

My Monster, just picked up from Eastern Cycle from the 7.5k service, was amazing.  I dialed in suspension, new belt, and NGKs.   I feel bad now that I got my black beast back, the season is ending.   :( So on Sunday, I rode from Boston to Fairfield CT, taking all backroads, except the Merit (15).  riding back up on Monday was a little colder.   Riding at 75 MPH windchill will lock any fingers, but the adrenaline of the twisties, working those sweat glands, really provided my heat.   I can't believe I saw a Cruiser dude with shorts, no gloves, partial helmet, either they are inhuman, or crazy! I don't know what.... I was in all leather, they must have thought I was the crazy one!

I'm not sure if there will be another warm weekend in the forecast, but if there is, I will ride again!

Thanks to Christian and company for coming out for a fantastic ride.

ducpainter - A good suggestion. I'll definitely take it to heart. :)

AfroStar - Can you elaborate on the route we took for my own reference as well as others who have asked?

I started riding this route with Takster, and after riding this so often you become adventurous.   You start going alone on a Sunday ride.  Then you find some other roads.  They are all fun roads leading to MotoMarket.

MQ, if you're up to it, we will invite you on our next ride up to Moto, if not this season, definitely in 2010!

Highly recommend riding through Lincoln and out through Concord - all the Roads are repaved now and totally smooth.

From 95 take Trapelo RD (One section still ripped up but shoudl be done any day).  At Library go straight onto Codman Road and then left back out to 126.  Go left on 126 and then right on 117.  At ORNAC go right and then take a left on ORNAC.  Will dump you onto Rt 2 again back at Emerson.

This is my commute - went from tragicly bumpy to super sweet.
