DTM on a KTM

Well its no Ducati but I'm sure Tigre will approve of the color.

As a replacement for the 749 I picked up a gently used KTM 690 SMC. I was looking for a bike that can handle dualsport, comfy riding, easy to ride bike and the Supermoto was it. Let me tell you this bike absolutely RIPS!!! Rated at 62hp 47FP  305lbs (no fuel) this bike is easy to ride and will do anything you want. The Akarpovic pipe sounds so sweet and it doesn't look like ill be making any friends in the neighborhood. For the first time in 5 years i actually wanted to ride Calaveras and Mt Hamilton roads, this bike just flattens them. So easy to ride on the goat trails and what bumps? It'll role over anything and keep on moving. On the highway its squirrely at best, and with no wind protection your hanging on the bars to keep from getting blown off the back. The new 690 motor feels a lot better than the old generation 640 paint shaker that Spidy/Jammen owned. It seems happiest when ridden like a dirtbike, have yet to mess with the suspension, but feels ok as is.

If any one is up for some goat trail riding, i'm game.

Any takers?

I'm sure DATV will take you up on it. He's always wanting to go on the most gnarly-ass, beat-up, testicle-torturing roads possible on his Husky.  :o

For some reason that spot looks really familiar.  I can't place it.

While I have more balls than half of you losers, I don't have any testicles to torture.  ;D I like goat trails.  But I like 'em sorta paved.  And not too much gravel.

I'm gonna shit in your helmet the next time I see you.

I was surprised how stiff the rear suspension felt when I sat on it.  All the other tards I've been on sank down a lot under my immense weight.

You ever gonna get another Duc, DTM?

Just waiting for the a deal, but i need to check with you about a water pump seal, apparently the bike is suppose to weep a little bit of coolant to let you know its starting to go? Know anything bout that?

haven't got it to use the full range of motion, so i got to check the sag number n stuff one of these days, but it feels good so far.

Maybe, eventually, i like the hypers, but got a tard already so  :-\ Or an absolute rat 620 would be a fun intown bike. Vindingos bike would have been a good candidate, or a bobber style ala Stu

I'm also up for paved goat trails (e.g. Alpine), the dirt ones I'll save for the pedal-powered bike.
