Didn't need to - you were comparing to BMW & Honda because there is no comparision to an FJR  - actually for two up the BMW'r is nice but it takes some maintenence $$ and it's heavy - the ST feels heavier than a Gold Wibng off the kickstand - FJR is due for an update in 2011 (2010 Yammie didn't do squat because of the economy plus it's the best selling sport tourer out there).
Actually I think the perfect bike I described is a CBR1000XX Blackbird outfitted for touring - THAT's the direction Honda needs to go or bring back the RC51 in touring form.

anyway, Yammi will disappoint you again.  how many years now with a cassette player on that Venture?  the worst was the "clutchless" FJR.   

They had the MP3 jack for years before Honda or HD - GoldWings only offer a radio standard. Yammy euro and Canada offer the FZ1 in a tour style with FJR bags - might be coming here next year - of course you can always buy the brackets and bags across the border and put them on. 26,000 mile maintenence intervals are nice.
Besides Yamaha is doing away with Yamaha blue and going to RED (Euro version) for all their logos - you should see the new accessory packaging. It's not DUC red but then again it's half the price too.
