there is a guy here selling an S2R800 with 2200 miles on it for $3850.
I'm considering buying it just out of principle. Red/White with white wheels. It's immaculate, and bone stock.

I said it was a good deal, not a fantastic deal like the one you are looking at.  I know the cromo tanks aren't particularly common, and $500 seems pretty reasonable to me, considering what any Ducati costs new.  I'd buy it myself, except I am 95% certain it wouldn't fit on my 06 M620D.

i know what you mean... if i had a bike it would fit on, i would buy a chromo tank for $500 pretty quickly...

I kinda want that fender.  tape it off and flat black it with a chrome stripe.

Found a carbon tank for $400 http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/mcy/1427662525.html. Sounds negotiable too.
