Anyone using VMware Fusion to run VDSTS?

I'd rather use my Mac for the diagnostic software, but VDSTS is PC-only.  Is anyone out there using VMware Fusion to run Technoresearch's VDSTS on their Mac?  Is there a better alternative (other than using a PC)?

Thanks!

Sorry, I've never used VMWare at home. I can allegedly install Windows on my Macbook and dual boot it, but haven't had the need.

I would think it should work. I can't imagine VDSTS is terribly CPU intensive. The only thing I can think of that would be an issue would be some hardware driver issues for the USB-to-Serial connectivity between a PPC and x86 translation. May as well just try and do the install and see if it works.

if he's thinking about fusion, he's got an intel mac (no ppc to x86 translation).

i use usb devices with my windows virtual machines all the time. no issues whatsoever.

(a windows drivers is a windows driver... it generally doesn't care if it's virtual or not)

Oh? I thought Fusion was for PPC Macs to run Windows in a virtual machine, which I could have swore was what he has (unless he got a new one)

"USB Device Support

VMware Fusion offers complete USB 2.0 supportâ€"even for proprietary video cameras, GPS, Bluetooth, and other devices that only work in Windows. You can even use your Mac’s built-in USB devices, like the iSight camera and Bluetooth radio with your Windows applications."
