y'know, that's not a bad idea - especially as the bike you have ages. At some point it will be cheaper to buy a used parts-bin bike for any bike you plan on keeping ad infinitum, cheaper than it would be to repeatedly source things you break from crashing or from wear from the dealer.

Ducati might be able to supply me with shims, belts, some engine parts and the like for my aging Monster, but at some point they will have no more chain tensioner set screw plates for the end of the swingarm. Or hoops for the suspension etc.

Actaually saw an 1125cr on the road this evening, in red, it's very aggressive looking.

They're sure anxious to move them.
