the verdict?

sobieski is a $12 vodka. but better than smirnoff.

sobieski vs. stolichnaya gold?
slightly harsher nose, and noticable 'rubbing alcohol' flavor which stays through the finish. no mouthfeel whatsoever.

at $12, I still can't imagine why anyone wouldn't pony up the extra abe for even the regular stoli. but yes, it's better than smirnoff. I suppose I could try mixing it. and use it for pasta.

lol  It goes far beyond the motorcycle.  Hell, you saw my garage!  Motorcycles, sports car and bicycles.  And that doesn't even touch the stereo systems that I have accumulated...  

I used to really like Elduras vodka, from Finland, but haven't seen it around in years...

lol  The Poles only know about Wodka because they are Russia's western most state. 

There are some other really good flavors over there, just not imported to the states.  I was able to sample a bottle of Stolichnaya (the local equivilant of Crystal) that was purchased on Red Square.  Tasty yes, but there I liked the Nordic varieties a touch more.

oh, it's not so bad that I refuse to try new vodkas... it's just an appreciation of the old school.
