If you like your tattoo guy why not let him draw it? Just give some ideas of things you want included, and let him do the rest? Leave the artwork to the artist essentially (unless your wife is an artist  ???). Sleeves are full coverage so there's going to be some of that anyway...unavoidable for the fill in spots. Besides...tattoo artists dig that over just tracing someone elses work.

Just an idea.

That's a good call, but this guy likes to work with others work.

When I was in there, some kid came in with his own drawings and Billy was helping him out.

Maybe it depends on the artist?

Going to get one today, in about 4 hours.
By the way, thanks to everyone who posted up much earlier in my inquiry about where to put this one.
I finally decided and all the feedback definatly helped me make up my mind.
Once it heals a bit I'll post up pics.

Where ya gonna put it?  :P
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Had my daughter's names added over the top of my compass rose last night.  Bad idea.  I haven't had one in 6 years.  Now I want another!  I have my eye on a Sailor Jerry Tattoo.

I need some ink...

*err... I suppose to elaborate, I've been thinking of doing some work on my lower leg, western style stuff, since I can't decide what to do to finish what I've got already, and it's wayyyy on like, the other end of me, so it won't interfere with anything

You should TOTALLY get cowboy boots! Yeah! The whole boot tattooed like it was on your foot! That would be cool!

While I think tatoos are fun, and like some of the work that members have, I've never wanted to get one as it can serve an an immediate disqualifier for the job market that I'm trying to get into - FBI/CIA/NSA/DOD

About to take the wife for some new ink on her lower back.

Will post pics later of her ink and of mine.

Her's is very cool.

Artist Billy Hill drew them off her concept.

I hope Billy doesn't take this reality show he has been approached about in Las Vegas, he is a great inker to have close by. He is going to start working on my sleeve.

Wow- there are some great tattoos here!!!  Can't believe I didn't see this thread until now...

Ok, here's mine!  12 hrs, 4 sessions, by Tom Berg out of SoCal Tattoo in San Pedro, CA. (If anyone saw Prison Break- the first season- he designed the torso/sleeve tats for the main character)

^ aw, thanks guys! It's about the constant search for knowledge and wisdom, in many different forms... it also demonstrates the fluidity/dynamism of knowledges to change and collapse (if the girl pulls a book from the middle of the stack, they'll all fall). The girl, based on the Disney Alice, represents one of the few female characters in traditional Western literature/myth who actually demonstrates curiosity and sets off on her own adventure, instead of being captured/under a spell/sleeping/otherwise prone/incapacitated and waiting for a man to rescue her. :p
Plus, I wanted it to be anatomically interesting and look like vertebrae from afar... which it does. :)

Embyr

^ hehe perhaps more in line with the original story and whimsy, yes- but the actual drawing was based on a movie cell (still frame), lol. I added the bloomers, though. :p
