Just wanted to alert everyone that the CHP was all over 101 in Marin today. I saw at least 4  [leo] between Larkspur and the Golden Gate Bridge, on both the northbound and southbound sides. One [leo] nearly cut me off while pulling over a [moto]; he proceeded to slam on the brakes, slowing down to 45mph. Glad to see my tax dollars hard at work, but still annoyed at the CHP for targeting those of us on two wheels.

I admittedly have a difficult time understanding why my tax dollars are going towards this type of thing... Perhaps I'm missing something.  I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt.

don't allow them to have that benefit ... chippies are revenue collectors, plain and simple. they are the modern day sheriffs for the DMV asshats.

I noticed them all over the Peninsula this week...each time I had made the decision to hang behind a car and take it easy, and then saw them and discovered my instincts were correct.

Not the DMV...the county gets the money.

It is the holiday season.  This happens every year - patrols step up to let people know that the cops are out there as a reminder not to drink and drive.

We just need to remember to take it slow until January.

I have got 2 speeding tickets in 2 months.. 5 years of riding and I have never been pulled over until now.  >:(

You can blame that on the bike (and/or a new car).  That's how it works with Enzo and me.  Then again, he's really the only one that actually gets the tickets to stick.  I typically get out of mine or just get a warning when I get pulled over.  (knock on wood)

That's cause you're a hot chick on a cool bike. ;) Have you ever been pulled over by a female officer?

Only once and I was in my car then--showed up to court and she didn't, so the ticket was dismissed.  I was given a citation by a male motorcycle officer once, but got out of it.  I've been warned a few times: once I was yelled at by another moto cop on the roll to "Slow down!"  That was a weird one.   [laugh]  I don't think that cops can tell that a gal is hot when she's in full gear.  I've been mistaken for a guy from behind once.  And even without all the gear I'm not sure I qualify as "hot".  I don't have self-image issues--just that I don't think a skinny white gal, decked out in a puffy Aerostich with helmet hair in her mid thirties qualifies as "teh hawtness" in most men's eyes.   [laugh]

Don't underestimate the power of the male libido and ego. You're a chick on a Ducati...that qualifies as hot.

Not hot?  I hear CALFIRE has voted to name the next conflagration 'the belle fire'.
Seriously.  Really.

A few years ago, I had an unmarked officer pull in behind me, get on the PA and say "Uh dude, you gotta slow down".  I did, waved and we went our separate ways.

Is "conflagration" some type of STD?  :P
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.
