+1 on the MotoGP.com subscription.  I've had it the past 2 season and love being able to replay all the races at my leisure.

Did anyone go to the Cycle World show this weekend?

I will never ever go again as long as it is held in downtown Dallas. >:( I drove downtown but every parking lot wanted $10 to park!!! WTF?? Ten bucks!! >:( >:( The meters on the streets were only good for two hours and a quarter would buy you all of ten minutes!! WTF again!! To top it off I saw more "meter police" than people going to the show. I bet if your meter expired you'd get a $25+ parking ticket about 5 seconds after it ran out. No kidding, while driving around trying to find a decent, affordable parking spot it looked like there was a meter goon every 50 feet!! I was in my truck but I am hoping all the bikes I saw in one lot got to park for free.

I finally said f#@k it and drove home! I wasn't going to spend that kind of parking money then pay a premium at the door for a ticket to see a show where half of the manufacturers weren't on display. Cycle World and the promoters seriously need to move it back to Ft. Worth. Free parking on the street and you can hit Joe T. Garcia's after the show for tex-mex insanity!! [thumbsup] [drink]

Any reports from people who went? I guess I should have used one of the ticket discounts and ridden my bike.

If you had rode your motorcycle to the motorcycle show, you could've parked for free!  They even had free parking for your jacket and helmet inside, which was supernice.  Ducati had a nice setup, the new Corse S and R bikes, a Bayliss 1098R racebike, and a bit of everything else, even free espresso from the Ducati Caffe.  Had a Rossi bike there too (GP bike, not just the R1 replica which they had too)

If you didn't ride to the show, why not train?

Figured they would have free bike parking (or I hoped they would!) but I had to run "truck" errands before and after I tried to go the show.

Did anyone see Triumph, Aprilla, Guzzi, KTM or BMW? They were very absent from the list that was emailed to me by Cycle World. Didn't know if they were left off the list or actually not present at the show? Wanted to see the new Aprilla SBK in person. That bike has my attention!! [moto] Not that I'm going to get one, just want to see it in person.

That's one I really wanted to see too.  Maybe some other time.

The only Triumphs, Guzzis, or Beemers I saw there were vintage bikes, which were nice to see, I only wish there had been more. Neither those brands nor Aprilia were there last year. This year KTM didn't make it. I get the feeling that people love to look at KTMs, but then buy something slightly less...orange. [cheeky]

I remember the RC8 KTM at last year's show had a horrible case of mismatched orange bodywork. That was a common problem with the first year RC8s. Why in the world would KTM display a $20,000 superbike with bad bodywork was beyond me. None of the pieces matched, it was hard to look at it seriously. I asked one of the KTM reps about it but he just changed the subject. I couldn't blame him, the bike displayed wasn't his idea. Great bike but bad bodywork... at least last year.

Went to the show, it was ok.  Best thing for me was talking to the Ohlins rep and discussing options for my steering damper/forks

Pretty neat write up and pics of the new KTM RC8R. If last year's standard was a solid $20K no telling what the R will go for. Hope to see them in WSBK next year, it would be a nice addition. [thumbsup] That would be one crowded grid! Only folks missing would be MV Agusta and Guzzi!! [moto] [popcorn]
