I'd like to take a look at that spring compressor to see if it's any different than the one I picked up.  The one I have might not be forgiving enough to do the trick.  Please post a pic of it so I can figure out if I need to borrow it or not.

Here is a picture of it (it's from Harbor Freight).



I couldn't fit it the hooks in the spring anywhere on my spring, but Clay said he was able to no problem. Is that the same one you bought?

I think something like this would work better.
