I need a new front tyre for the S4 in Thailand the old Pilot sport is shagged out ..i have a MEZ6 on the rear but at the moment only Dunlop Qualifiers are available  I wanted Pirelli Diablo or MEZ4 but none available for a month or 2 . I wont use Bridgstone. Michelins are unavailable here.

Is the Dunlop qualifier a good tyre also can i use a 120/60 instead of 120/70 to lower front end  a bit or will this make the ride harsher?

The qualifier is a very good tire, an evolution over the Pilot Sport.

120/60 tends to expose the rim to much more road damage from pot holes, etc.  i wouldn't.

The only complaint I have with the Qualifier is that I can't get decent tread life out of them, and my buddies feel the same way. I get better tread life with all of the Pirelli products and they handle as well, if not better than the Dunlop. As a comparison, my wife and I can burn through a Qualifier rear tire in 1800 miles and to cords by 2200-2400 miles. The Pirelli Diablos won't hit cords for another 500 miles or so (we went through 18 tires last year and 14 tires the year before).

I also don't know if it is because I am used to the Pirellis or what, but the Qualifiers seem to give a lot of feedback.....almost false feedback. It's like I would sometimes get a sensation that the tires were sliding a little, but I know it wasn't the case. My wife even notices it, also. We bought a bunch of D208s and Qualifiers at a good price, so once we burn through all of them, we're back to our Pirellis. If Michelins weren't so expensive, my wife really likes the Pilot Powers and the new 2CT tires. They seem to work well with her R1 and the Monster.

OK thanks so its a good tyre  , its so difficult to get tyres here that i am glad the qualifier is a good option ,if i cannot get any of the others apart from the fact that all the othere are $200+ each here and the Dunlop is only $130 and  in stock.

I think with all the potholes here i will stick with the 120/70 to save the rims .
