I've been back in town for...

A yellow t-shirted goodbye dinner and a 4th of July celebration at Tempe Beach Park in 2007 was the last I honestly thought I would see of most of you.

For the year and a half that I was in Maryland, I have to admit that I missed the AZDRA.  I've never ridden (or wrenched) with such a great bunch of enthusiasts.  Work was so tough, and the weather was so rainy most of the time, that I never had time to connect with the CAM group out there.  Riding became a solo venture that would often take place in the middle of the night (sometimes freezing).  It was about the only thing that kept me on this side of the dirt.  Therapy at it’s best.  My time in Maryland had taken its toll on me.  I’d log on to YouTube from time to time and watch “A Run Up South Mountain”, and wonder if I’d ever get a chance to do it again.

Now I'm back.  Crazy as ever.  But underneath it all, I wanted to express my sincere gratitude.  Thanks.  Not only for sending me off with best wishes… but for welcoming me back with open hearts.  I consider you some of my dearest friends.

I grew up in NW Baltimore (Randallstown).  Lived in Columbia from July 07 to Dec 08.  I agree that there are some awesome roads there.  All of them twisty.  Most of them I remember from when I was a kid.  Marriottsville, Woodstock, Ridge, River, Dogwood, Bunker Hill.

I just never connected with the other riders out there.  Went on maybe 2 rides / meet-ups.  I was pretty out of sorts.

...and up your's Randimus.  You don't count.  You had already defected by the time I left.  And yet you still lurk here in AZDRA.  hmmmm?    :-*  <sap>

Thanks for writing this. I'll bet a lot of folks feel similarly but don't have the cojones to say it.  ;)

I'm glad to have met you... and look forward to hanging out more.

Well...since my bike is half made up of parts from your bike...I guess I'm glad you're back too!  ;D   [moto]

In all seriousness, it's great having you around.  Hope all our schedules sync up again soon for more riding and BS'ing.
