I picked this up this week end.



1939 M91/30 soviet.

took about two hours to get all the cosmoline out.

They had a few with nicer stocks but the muzzles were all worn out, this one was counter bored, I took a flash light when I went to check them out and the grooves looked more defined then the other rifles.

came with a cleaning kit, a few leather ammo pouches, sling, and bayonet I can't get to fit, probably meant to be hammered on, brute force engineering the ruskies are know for 

I ordered a NO-GO head space gauge, just be be sure (I like my hands and face) but all numbers match so it will probably be ok.

I have one of those 91/30's. Fun gun to shoot.

Too bad all the cheap ammo is corrosive com-bloc surplus. Means you have to clean it promptly, and well.

I agree on the bayonet. I got it on fully once, and it took for-make the beast with two backsin'-ever to get it back off. It's stayed off since. Don't have a whole lot of call for a pigsticker anyway, and it made an already ridiculously long rifle even longer.

Check out what the Ruskies used to do with these things! Called an 'obrez.' Talk about a wrist breaker!

My brother just bought an 7.62 AR for hunting hogs. Going to visit him up in Georgia in a few months to try it out.

That seems like a rather odd purchase for hog hunting.........

From what I have heard, AR's aren't very accurate, but all depends on the manufacturer.

Lots of other options out there.

He groups them pretty well at 100 yards with it.

Don't see too many AR's chambered in 7.62

AR variants can be damn accurate!  All depends on the QC of manufacture, and how you have them set up.
