Was reading Boston's Gun Bible over the weekend while the power was out.  That book is a trip to read, particularly when you are feeling a bit apocalyptic......need to buy more guns, more ammo, and a generator.......

i went to a gun show out here, think it was in Garland (essentially in DFW) and was shocked and amazed at the lack of Klan/Neo-Nazi stuff that I was used to seeing in North Mississippi gun shows. There was always one or two idiots who'd bring the weirdest 'memorabilia' to those gun shows and it really made the whole event much more "memorable" (and in my mind humorous - i had to find humor in those people).

That's noticeably absent from the DFW gun shows, and as such, I've been a little bored. There's only so many new-fangled knife sharpeners and whatnot to look at, stuff that's the same/identical every time and sometimes quite overpriced, I get bored pretty quickly.

I find that sites like TexasGunTrader and similar are a much better way to find 'deals' - its how I got the A+ condition EG Makarov

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

i have a little pos 1000w 2 stroke gen that i've had for about 8 years now.  I used to live in NYC and I needed it for power tools at the parking lot.  I used it during the blackout there -- put it on top of my window unit AC and ran an extension cord to my fridge.

I've used it for several blackouts around here.  This saturday, when the power went out, I wired it into our main breakers for the furnace fan and fridge.  I did the math and the furnace fan uses 3A and the fridge uses 6.1A.  It grunted and ran like a champ, we had heat, fridge and cooking (gas).  I plugged in one light circuit in the bedrooms and we had light (thanks to using CFLs everywhere).

I want a bigger generator, but this one cost me $89 at harbor freight.  It's small and as long as I keep putting stabil in it and good gas, it will run forever.

$89 bucks???? I can't afford not to have one.  We had lights, in the form of propane camp lanterns, and a gas stove and gas hot water, but sure would have been nice to have a little heat.......

Thanks for listening.

Anybody have any experience with the Kel Tec SU 16a series? You might call these "trunk monkeys". It folds in half. I am looking for FHE. They are also not too terribly expensive (probably for a reason)

I can't imagine it folding being a problem.

I could technically "fold" my AR in half by pushing out the receive pins.

I have a Keltec 32 which I purchased from a douchebag friend ( [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]) and the quality of that piece is very good, so I would imagine that rifle is probably pretty good.

Long over due, but here are the pictures of the Benelli Ducs Unlimited Super Nova I picked up for 200$ from a friend.

It was hard to take pics of since it has a 28" barrel on it.

I am not going to shoot this gun that often and probably not for a while due to my shoulder surgery.

What is the best way to store it to keep it from getting damaged by humidity, etc etc.

It won't fit in any of my hard cases as it is too make the beast with two backsing long!!

Enjoy.

They used to coat everything in cosmolene.

That is outdated and barbaric...

Use WD-40. ;)

i would not bother with the A version.  You can't fire it when folded.  The C version can be fired when folded and is a bit more compact when folded.

the quality is typical kel-tec -- spartan but functional.  it wasn't pleasant to fire, the plastic is a bit rough.  maybe a thin rubber coating would fix it and give it more "Grab" and body.

I liked it.  but I have a dozen truck guns, including a "witness protection" s/g which I would love to use as a carry piece.  but i digress.

Unless you get the A version cheap cheap (200-300) i would pay the extra bill for the C version.

I am thinking about putting a generic hogue rubber grip on my Keltec 32. Of course it will need to be cut and modded, but all my handguns have keltec grips as I like the feel and gives me a uniform "grip" feeling.

I'd like to put one on my Tomcat 32, but with where the mag release is located, it would need some severe modification to accomodate that.

Anybody have an opinion on this FAL clone offered by Atlantic?

http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/storeproduct618.aspx

Entreprise used to have a bad reputation.  I don't know if they've come around or not.  Gunplumber (the FAL expert, no really..) wouldn't touch them last I checked.

That being said, if the rifle cycles and fires safely then it should be fine.  I know Entreprise made an aluminum receiver and it was a disaster, this is a normal steel one.
