I've debated with this guy in the Politics Forum.  Says he left NYC a few years ago.  I take him seriously, but question this post.

Any thoughts?

I know Ducatizzzz and met him when he was still here in NYC, he's a good guy.  If he says he heard the rumor, he heard the rumor.  I have never known him to bullshit, except when he's joking.

Whether NYPD is doing that I don't know, I would say that it's very unlikely considering how apparent it would be if cops were traveling around the city knocking over bikes.  They are already discouraging bikes in other ways that are more "legal" (I use that term loosely in regards to what they do) and less incriminating than knocking over bikes.

if i saw a cop doing that i would do everything i could possibly do to make sure as many people witness this criminal act go so far as to find any cctv's that may have caught it on tape and ultimately have the cop suspended. hell ide probably get shot 80 times in the process...

Have you heard of Jimmy Justice?  I heard him on O&A on Thursday or Friday.  Apparently he goes around videotaping and confronting traffic cops that do illegal things, like make illegal u-turns, blocking fire hydrants, etc.

I saw some of those Jimmy Justice videos on youtube.  He is fighting the good fight, but I think he can execute it a little better.  Regardless, glad someone is policing the traffic cops.

I completely agree.  I love the idea, but the taunting and name-calling really doesn't help his case; it just makes him look like a cop hater.  Or a bigot.  Or both.

Yeah, it seems like he's trying to become a celebrity while at the same time trying to "clean up" some bad activity.  He'd probably have better results if he wasn't being a jerk.

(opinion) Cops can make illegal U turns, they dont need to follow the traffic laws all the time. If they need to get somewhere, they can run redlights, make u turns and park wherever they need to park to respon to a call. Im sure he can do much better than little things like that. It would be riduculous for a cop car to have to obey those laws all the time.

In a situation of a cop performing coply duties, I agree.  But a traffic enforcement officer, parked in front of a fire hydrant, during a fire, buying soda/cigs/whatever, is just wrong.
