7500 mile service. It is the monster. getting ready to adjust the valves and change the belts.

That would be great John, thanks!  I was going to have silverback do a full service on it this spring since I don't have any service history on it. Maybe if it doesn't seem too intimidating I'll give it a shot myself.

Oh my bad, saw red frame and just assumed it was his 1198 

I should get my 12,000 mile service in.  I'd love to watch too but I'm one of those people that work on fridays.

not saturday but sunday it will still be apart. It really seems to be easier than people make it out. I ran the feeler gauge around today and a couple seem to be near the tolerance. I will have to play with it a bit. The manual says to remove the head. That seems a little drastic. We used to change valve springs by brazing a air nipple to a spark plug to hold the valves up.  The manual also talks about a special tool to move the closers out of the way that I have to figure on.
