Can't speak for AMS but according to the folks at Eurosport, this is the first one they have seen do this. I guess it must have been the last nut to tighten before a long weekend in Italy.  :-\

Hmmm, sure it wasn't your fault  ;D [laugh]

Yea, I was typing fast during work stuff and wound up threading thoughts together: I meant it is nothing the Eurosport folks have seen happen; I'm not sure how common it is, though, outside of that particular dealership.

what the... I don't quite understand what the problem was... do they mean the nut that holds the clutch drum on?  or the series of nuts that hold the basket on?  or the series of nuts that hold the caps down on the pressure plate?

Evidently it was the series of nuts that assembled the clutch  [cheeky] ;D

ha.

I'm guessing they meant the nut that holds the clutch drum to the main shaft, that would make sense as to the way his bike was behaving...

funny enough, I had the proper socket with me to repair such a failure and we could've had that sucker back up and running the next day no problem  ;D

Yeah, but would it have voided the warranty? Dunno  :P

from what i've read from other threads and places depending on what you've done to the bike the warranty might not matter anyway.

Not true, They have to prove that a mod or change you made caused the damage.
F'rinstance, pipes, rimtape, mirrors, etc. would not affect the workings of the clutch in any way.

great news george!! [thumbsup]

scott there were several guys on TOB who went to their dealer because they wanted to do an exhaust like mine and some others and they were told it would void the warranty w/o even knowing if the exhaust could cause a prob. mine hasn't, that i know of, but i will find out next sat how valves and all look.
