Put the finished pics up already!

Just kidding, I can wait.

Can you get any more height out of the bike by dropping the forks a bit?  I don't know what sets the height in the rear, but is there any adjustment there either?

We have plenty of room to drop the forks a bit. The back would need dogbones at this point to drop it down, but we're trying to avoid that if possible. We're going to leave it alone for now as T will be riding it a bit, and he already looks like a monkey make the beast with two backsing a football on it...  [laugh]

If I might offer a suggestion...
If you have any way of getting your levers a little closer to the bars (different levers, maybe) so that you're not operating them with the very tips of your fingers, it will do a lot toward giving you better control and more confidence. Bet you can't guess how I know.   [laugh]

So here they are - the last few images I took as we completed the bike! Enjoy  :)

Tony drilled a hole in my headlight housing so he could mount the switch for my grip warmers in a convenient, unobtrusive place.

Shaving the seat. The back section of the cover remained stapled on for ease of reattachment.

I sat on the seat and had Tony draw around my bum so I knew what part of the seat needed the most attention.

Let the fun begin... if you ever decide to shave your seat - definitely do it outside! What a freaking mess! I put a board across the trash can so most of it would just fall right in.

Tony didn't get any pics of me stretching the cover back on, but it was pretty tough as I removed a lot of material. I literally had to sit on the side of the seat and yahd on er with both hands to get it flat against the foam without making creases or wrinkles. What a PITA! It was worth it though. I wish I had taken a good before shot, but hopefully this gives you an idea:

If you go back to some of the previous posts you'll see a shot of my on the very tips of my toes. Here's about where the seat chop left me:

The only damage sustained when I dropped her for the first time (see the crotch story earlier in this thread if you don't know what I'm talking about).

AND... by popular demand, here she is in all her finished glory!

Some decent outdoor pics with a good camera. The little side covers are off because lately T has had to take the tank off a couple times a week to work on quirky little issues. We'll get there eventually!

I will definitely keep this thread updated as we continue to pick at the bike. We will probably be doing the chain sometime soon, which isn't really exciting enough for pics, but we'll be putting a fuel filter on it (didn't have one stock) and probably some other little things here and there.

Thanks to all who have offered encouragement and followed along during this whole process!  [thumbsup]

Looks great! I'm sure the scratches on the back are hardly noticable from a distance. Really, the bike looks great!
