Not all Islay offerings are the same.

Only some are strained through dirt and old gym socks.   
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

lagavulin 16 is fantastic, and well balanced for the non-islay types

ardbeg takes like you set driftwood on fire compared to the laphroaig

I've got a bottle of the Ardbeg Nam Beist that I absolutely love.....much mellower than their other offerings, but pricey!

All I know is that I sure liked my long gone Oban & Balvenie  better than the Laphroaig. Maybe I'll keep the frog for the moochers.   [laugh]
