I have Iridium Gold on mine which are 12 months old now & it is still like new.  Its very easy to clean, I just soak a microfiber cloth in water & the bugs just wipe off (even if I don't clean it for a week), & then use another dry microfiber cloth to dry the visor off.

Cant say that I've had any reflection problems with the iridium vs clear visor.  Maybe it depends on the brand of helmet as the visors could be made to different specs between the various brands?

Iridium visor, scratches very easily, however they are good for at least an extra 2-3 km/h top speed.
What you really should get is one of these.

years ago with my shoei, this is when i only had a bike, i had a yellow "rain" visor on as it was raining when i left for work, on the way home after dark i got pulled for a licence/rego check and due to my smart mouth about being harassed was issued a ticket for using a "tinted" visor after sundown. any tint/colour is illegal after dark, at least here in qld it is.
the wet cloth or paper towel method as mentioned above is the best way of removing bugs etc without scratching but it's not always possible half way through a ride unfortunately.

I am proud to confirm that Nickati is NOT the proud owner of Budgie Smugglers. He has never owned a pair of Budgie Smugglers, nor has he been associated to anyone sporting Budgie Smugglers.  :-X
Well, i'm glad that we clarified that misconception once and for all.  :-\

Ahh, multi-tasking Bazza !  ;)

Well I picked up a dark tinted visor this arvo. The bloke in the shop reckoned it would be darker then the Iridium ones.
And the black visor on black helmet also matches my black jacket, pants, boots and gloves...

It certainly doesn't cut out as much sunlight as my sunnies, but at least I don't have "spooky vision" anymore.
Went to Joe's Garage tonight and knowing I'd be riding home after dark, I took some yellow safety glasses.
The copper who pulled me over tonight didn't say anything about the dark visor either  [cheeky]

He pulled me over for not having a tail light. No fine, just a "self clearing" defect  ;D

+1 They are not as dark as a tinted visor, and they reflect some of the heat out as well (maybe thats not a problem in Tas) and the coating is on the inside although you do have to treat them with a bit of respect, and dont use any 'fog free' products on them as it will destroy the iridium coating.

This won't hurt much.... Trust me......
