Name: Paul Jarvis
Location: Columbia, Missouri (no I don't go to Mizzou)
Bike: 05 S2R 800, or at least what's left of the stock parts.
Purchased bike (first bike) April of this year.

I got into motos via all my buddies who have always had rice rockets.  Frankly they bore the hell out of me so the first time I saw a Monster AND found out it was in my price range I pooped a brick.  The dog was really confused.

At first I was a little reticent to jump right into a mid/high range bike for my first, but I've been an avid mountain/road cyclist for years ( the kind you have to pedal you lazy bastards) but I knew as soon as I sat on my Monster in the shop that it fit me like a glove, or at least a tiny glove with my being 6'3".  Meh, nothing a new set of clipons and rearsets can't cure.  The differences are surprisingly minimal, I just have to get out of the habit of trying to put my inner foot down on curves!

With the exception of all the duc specific fixins such as shimming and tuning, I love supporting all our local shops such as exhaust and otherwise and try to avoid buying online (though it's sooooo easy to slide into that habit).  I do ride the local weekly rocket group (who among us can resist the call of a 90mph curve??)  as well as with my older coworkers who all have Victorys.  I don't care what kind of bike ya got, lets roll.

P.S. - I'm currently working on my first batch of home brew beer so if it turns out well, send your address and I'll be happy to share the wealth  [drink]

My other love/pain

Well msincredible, she's no Orbea but I've finally pared the fleet down to the only bike I'd sooner die than part with.  Plus it got tiresome lugging 4+ bikes around (plus parts) every time I moved.  This pic was from a few years ago but she still has a little glitz left in her.  Not too bad considering I found it in a lake ;D

It's down to the lowly single speed but I do go and rent a mountie every now and then just to get off the road

Welcome.

Sweet looking bikes.

Yeah High 90's here and I will be riding the mountain bike at work all day! Nice to get $$$ for something you like to do.  ;D

Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.
