i will be trying to make this.

Part of this is the route you and I rode...a long time ago when you had that M750.

Looks like I'm riding tomorrow after all. Colin's Dad decided he'd take him back to the Scout campout tonight after the play. Took one for the home team! [clap] Muenster sounds good but I don't know if I'll be able to make your Ft. Worth take off. Maybe I'll just see you on the road somewhere. I've got the route down... better have after 25+ years. I'll be on the blue/white Gixxer 1000. Wave if you see me! I'll honk as I pass!! [laugh] [thumbsup] [moto]

Good to hear you'll make it. Can't ride a Duc?

Dang, a meetup about a few miles from la casa....

I'd join if I didn't already have plans. It looks to be a nice day for a ride.   [moto]

Dang... so close. What time is breakfast ready?   ;D

Glad to hear you'll be able to get a ride in. Look for us in Muenster (I'll p.m. my phone#) if you want to grab a bite to eat with us. I'm guessing we'll be there around 1:00 but it will depend on whether we detour up to 89 and hit the bridge-o-speed.

My lunch plans are early it looks like  [roll]  so I could probably meet y'all in Muenster after 1:30.  Maybe.  I'll post here when I know for sure.

Of course if y'all are cruising back down I-35W on your way home this afternoon, you could cruise by my house and watch some tivo'd MotoGP and have a cold one... or two.

hmmm...
No replies yet so we'll be blazing our own trail here. This route looks mui fun and should get us into Muenster around lunchtime. It starts pretty for west, but I think it will be worth the haul over there. That's one of the things that sucks about the metroplex; it takes an hour just to get anywhere that has any roads worth a damn. We can take the detour to the OK border north of St. Jo if you want and hit the sound barrier across the bridge.  ;D [moto]

We can slab it back but I'll also have a funner option handy if we're feeling it.

Lets meet at the Starbucks @ 6539 Lake Worth Boulevard, Fort Worth, TX 76135

Kickstands up @ 9:30

For anyone who wants to join, shoot me a p.m. so I know to expect you.

Sorry guys.  I was wrong.  The address for starbucks is correct, just the google maps location is wrong.

Cher

Well, there's no way I'm going to catch up with y'all today - NEXT time for sure!

Just got back from my Muenster ride... was lucky to even be able to go. Man, those roads are taking a beating from all the oil field trucks. 730 out of Decatur is fine, but all the roads leading to and from Forestburg look and feel like they have been carpet bombed! 677 north and south of St. Jo is hurting too.

It's gotten so much worse in just the last year! And damn, they are doing a grade A shitty job of fixing them! Ugh! [bang] They seriously need to import the guys from Arkansas that keep their roads in such great shape. Obviously these folks they are using have no idea what to do. Must be some County Commissioner's brother in law that got the contract.

Besides the millions of bugs I killed with my faceshield it was a good, sunny, light traffic day. Even saw a couple of bikes that weren't Harleys and were actually not riding 10 to 20 under the speed limit! [laugh]

BUT THE GREAT NEWS IS... Doc's is open again!! Pulled up to the 373/380 intersection light and thought "hmmm, sure are a lot of cars and bikes in front of Doc's??" They've been closed since last November when the owners got tired of owning a successful German restaurant/bar and making money. [bang] [bang] [bang] One of the waitresses recognized me (yeah, I've been there a lot!) and she told me the story about the new owners. They've been open a little more than a week. She gave me their new phone number (940-759-3627) if we ever want to call ahead to reserve the upstairs room for a group ride lunch! And they have added an overhead cover over the patio now!! It's real nice and could add months to it's use for big groups and eliminate bad weather concerns. Raining? Who cares! [thumbsup] [beer]

They have downsized the menu a little bit but all the favorites are still there and the place looks exactly the same. Most importantly the food was still the best! I had the sausage sampler plate and it was the same as always... it rocked! Another good sign was the place was half full of local folks. Always good to see that in any small town restaurant. [thumbsup]

All in all a good day! [thumbsup] [moto] [drink]

The waitress also said that Doc's will be closed only on Tuesdays. That's it, no other days. The old owners closed on Tuesdays, then it morphed into Tuesday and Wednesday. As they got more and more tired of owning a successful and profitable restaurant the days it closed depended on their mood when they woke up and the direction of the wind! I could never ever figure out why 4 out of 5 times I rode there Doc's was closed! No matter the day! The staff is much happier with the new "fixed" day off arrangement. Now they know the doors won't be locked when they show up for work. [thumbsup]

Thanks Will for setting this up!!! [thumbsup]

Great to see Zach and Catie again, and what an awesome day for a ride!!!!! [moto]

The weather could not be beat, the popos were helping all the cyclists so once we got past that is was try to stay up with Will time for me.

Dang it he is quick, and a good rider too.  We hit the bridge to OK and the 695 topped at 135.  I've never pegged that bike like I did today.

The road we took back towards Sanger was phenominal, 100 mph sweeps!!

And Maylynn just about kept up with Will and I.  Zach and Rich were kind enough to ride sweep and make sure all the licence plates were picked up ;D

Damn what a fun day! Things started out slow and sketchy having to dodge all the cyclists, LEO's and vehicles from the MS150. I was starting to think that I had copied their route map. Once we got past all that we were golden. Nice lunch on the Center Restaurant patio, then a fun return trip through some varied terrain. FM 2450 into Sanger was the road you were talking about Dan. My only complaint about that road was that it didn't go longer!  [moto]

Stuck behind traffic on 377, I was starting to think maybe we should have just slabbed it back on 35, but then we saw that Argyle police cruiser wrecked in that flooded ditch; that was totally worth the hassle.  [thumbsup]

I appreciate the compliment Dan, but I'm not that great of a rider; it's definitely the bike. It still cracks me up that my gps turn-by-turn voice instructions translated "FM" roads as "Federated State of Micronesia". "In .3 miles turn right on Federated States of Micronesia 2450". Hilarious.

Here's the full route (minus the side trip up to OK):
