Currently I've got the velcro stuck to the handlebar mount (top of the top tripple clamp) on my 696.  EZPass works there every time.  I'm going with clipons though soon on my 1100 so I'm experimenting with other options.  I tried the EZPass holder thing (can be found for $20) mounted to the trellis... no go.  My theory is that the EZPass has to be horizontal like the transponders in the toll booths -- and have nothing in between the pass and the transponders.  My next experiment will be some uber-strong velcro to the top of my Zumo mount.  But if you've still got bars, just use the velcro to the top of the mount, works like a charm.  The supplied velcro seems to be waterproof ... not so certain about the EZpass itself... they really really really need to come up with a dedicated pass for motorcycles!

i put it VERY VERY Deep in my pocket so its hard to get to. So when it doesnt go off, and the cop says where is it, i put the kickstand down, then i struggle to unzip my jacket, then when i cant, i take of my gloves, by that time the cop just waves me off.

Im only half kidding.

i keep it in my chest pocket. once i zip tied it to my triple. it didnt go off. Ive only used it 3 times and its never gone off.

NYS won't allow us to do that anymore.  They made me turn mine in.  I have mine between the windscreen and gauges.

How is it attached?  The velcro tape they give you?

Howie

The strips they give you.  What is really holding it is being squeezed between the screen and the instrument cluster.  I should have mentioned it is an aftermarket screen (Dart).

What if u drill 2 holes into the airbox top and ziptie it there? or will it not read that?

Ive had mine in my hand waiving around like an idiot and it would not go off. Im not sure why it works so well in cars, but it sucks on bikes. maybe its a vibration thing.

It will not read through metal.  Waving it around doesn't work, you need it to be relatively still.  I don't know why.  The only time I have a problem is the toll on the Henry Hudson.

Mine worked well for 2 months then quit.  I got a new one and that one worked for one toll before it died.  I think the vibration destroys these things.

Yeah, that's what I got... but I don't really want to put it on my bars... sits down too low so it's going to take up space.  I tried it on the trellis to no avail... but I've now discovered two problematic lanes going into the BklynBatt tunnel... sadly they're both the only EZPass Only lanes during rush hour... so it might still work on the trellis, when I gave up on it I had only tried it on one of those lanes.

This is a bit cheesy but actually doesn't seem like a bad idea - might give it a try:
