I have the DelMar in white in both perf and non-perf versions in your size.  The major differences between it and the SM is the use of D-Skin leather (depending on which model SM you are looking at, it could have D-Skin as well), the 3-D Bubble liner, and the removable neck protector.  Other than that, they are quite similar.  The Del Mar is much more comfortable and flexible due to the use of the Bubble liner instead of the bulky removable liner, but that is a matter personal preferance.  Either jacket will serve you well.

P.S. to DoubleEagle:  Sorry for so thoroughly thread jacking this!!

DoubleEagle, Sorry for the thread jack but,

This was such a wonderful thread that I had to get it rolling again! I wanted to show you a pic of my new Dainese textile Shotgun jacket for the warm California summer.

This jacket and new Drake air textile pants(no pics yet) will be replacing my Rev'it Airforce jacket and Mistral pants, which is the last of my non-Dainese gear.

The new Mugello fabric holds my fat in quite nicely.

 More shopping to come......

Nice collection D'

CycleGear has a good variety of Dainese in their stores.

I've been checking out the white one-piece:

The jacket looks good too.

I already have a Duc Performance jacket though.  Even after 7 years, it still looks new!  [thumbsup]

Dan, what do you have in the way of a non-perf leather in size 52?  I really like the Santa Monica that I got last fall, but need something with no holes for when it gets cooler later in the year.

I just got a Dianese jacket today finally.  Boy am I loving it.  Got the black one with white logo ( was hoping to get the with gray logo...to make it all black) but the closeout sale inventory did not work to my favour.  I am loving this jacket fit and feel.

There's a lot of options there, but if you want to stay on the sport/technical side of things like your Santa Monica, the SM does come in a non-perf version, or you could go with the non-perf Newsan or Racing Pelle.  If you can live without the external thermoformed armor and sliders, there are a TON of other options for you.  Take a peruse through the site, and if anything catches your eye, let me know.

Here's just a few options.  Be sure to click through the color options to see what else is available:

How do you guys take care of your leather jackets ?  Is there some leather treatment things I should be doing.  I have started wiping it off with dab of water after rides.  I need to take better care from now on.

So far, I have been using Mother's leather cleaner/conditioner that I have from my car.

Dan, is there something you would recommend over this?

Slide Panda

They make a cleaning and balm kit... so I'd bet that's the recommended product.

Vanson sells a bottle (10oz I think) of leather conditioner that I used on my somewhat battered A* GP gloves. A couple goes and they definitely feel better off than they did before.

We do make a cleaning and conditioning kit, but any good quality product like Luxol or Leathermasters will work fine.  Just be sure to condition after cleaning, as the cleaner will strip the hide of any moisture, and that will need to be replenished.

I have very good luck with Lexol leather conditioner. Comes in a spray container that can be bought at most any Auto Parts store for about $10.

Just get a sponge and spray it about 3-4 times and wipe a section of your Jacket , Suit or leather Pants and Gloves .

I put it on so that the leather looks wet all over by continuing to spray the sponge and wiping the leather.

I have also used Mother's leather conditioner . It is more like hair conditioner in that it is thicker .

I just pour some on the leather and wipe it all over the leather.

After either has set a while you can take a soft clean towel and buff the leather to a very brilliant shine.
