USA flag shirts verses Cinco de Mayo in California ? Students sent home - WHAT'S YOUR OPINION?

I'm sure this thread will get locked at some point due to some peoples political opinions about this. But let me pose one question before that happens.....

Would those kids have worn the same outfits on May 6th?

This might have been a good opportunity for the school's administration to teach a little tolerance (especially tolerance of the MAJORITY...duh) to the whiners.  Nobody said anything bad about Mexicans, they just showed that they're Americans.  What's wrong with having a little pride?  It's something sorely lacking in American youth at large.

Would Jewish kids be thrown out of school for wearing a menorah tee shirt or symbol around Christmas?  Would the Mexican kids be thrown out of school for wearing Mexican symbology around Independence Day, or Veteran's Day, or President's Day?  Would welfare kids be thrown out of school for wearing their raggedy clothes to school near Labor Day?  Where does it end?

How about we throw kids out of school for threatening other kids, or for fighting, or for bullying, or for insulting other kids based upon religion, national origin, economic status, or a number of other attempts at degrading another human being?  There are plenty of reasons to legitimately throw kids out of school without looking for stupid ones ..... like wearing an American Flag .... which I personally find disrespectful to the flag, but that's just me.  Wear red, white, and blue all you want, but when you form them into a flag and wear them I think it's disrespectful.  And, "Yes".....I did put myself into harm's way for my country and its flag, so I feel well voicing that opinion.

Now, can we move on to other insulting activities, like riding by cops and hoisting the finger, please? (Whilst riding a red, white, and blue Nicky Hayden replica, of course!!!!)

I'm wearing my American flag banana hammock today.  OK, fine, it looks more like a postage stamp ( apparently, Nic can attest), but it does have a flag on it 

Back to a question I have asked you guys for awhile now: Honky cultural center.  Anybody have a mobile home they aren't using? 


Scott, Yes I'm kidding.  The only flag I have is one a friend gave to me that flew over base during Desert Storm, with a hand written letter from the President.  ...I couldn't breath for about 20min.  When my father passed I put the letter with him.   I still have the flag & a cert. of authenticity

mexican independence day is Sept 16th.

Cinco de Mayo was pimped by the beer companies to sell their beer. It's about as Mexican as St. Paddy's day is truly Irish.
