My friend just got his moto endorsement this winter and bought himself a nice old CB 650.  Today was his first day riding in to work.  Missed his exit, got lost in the west hills, got in a little late.  Nice

How is it that three children raised in the same household could become three adults with completely different sets of values and morals??? And what makes the same people feel they are entitled to everything you have without them having to lift a finger or put in any time to earn it???

Oldest vs. youngest sometimes makes a big difference.  My younger 33 year old brother still lives at home and has never paid rent.  He makes almost as much as I do and has no savings and a mountain of debt.  Strangely, this is not too uncommon on Long Island.  Part of the reason I don't live there any more.

Soooo.... I ordered some motorcycle parts on ebay and recieved them in the mail yesterday. Inserted into the box was a pamphlet on how riding motorcycles was like ones path toward God. No offense to religious people, but I just wanted motorcycle parts.

Granted, I did stop and read the thing. Funny enough, I think their message was slightly skewed towards the evil Harley biker gang crowd. Good thing us sport bikes types are clearly closer to God. (based upon the document.)

Anyhow... have a nice day. It's 5:30 am... I am on my second call of the day... and I am going to a concert tonight... it is going to be a long long day.

I saw a biker down this morning dropping Mo off. Looked like a cruiser. I hope the guy is ok. Seems he got T-boned by a cager less than a minute before we reached the intersection. Thankfully it wasn't a hit and run, the cager was just getting out of his car as we pulled up.

Looked like a middle aged dude, probably out enjoying a dry commute this morning when an inattentive driver cruised the light. Shame.

On a similar note... I went jogging on Saturday... mid day.. about 70 degrees out... was passing a busy intersection and saw a rearending accident... two cagers... the cause... hot chick in half cheek running shorts jogging... then a second rearend accident for the same reason... I was actually quite suprised by it all... didn't really expect to see something so out of the movies as this... but then I almost ran into a telephone pole watching her and the aftermath.. so I guess it is not just Hollywood

Whether or not that's the actual cause of this particular incident, it's not unheard of.  Makes me nervous as all getout when I'm going through an intersection with Erica on the back of the bike.  I always slow down and look both ways, even when I have the light.  I've had other drivers blow through lights when I'm on the bike and when I'm caging it... several of those instances would have resulted in me getting hit if I hadn't been doing their job for them.

The sad thing is, I give him props for stopping. But it shouldn't be that way. Stopping should be the normal thing that happens.

Yep, it is kinda sad that we have to give props for someone doing what should be the decent, normal thing to do. 

Anywayz... so yeah, Erica and I were riding all over hither and yon this weekend.  Rode 2-up from Sandy to Milwaukie, then to Oregon City, back to Sandy, then to Wilsonville, then back to Sandy via Milwaukie.  Erica's bum was a bit sore after this weekend, and my wrists were starting to feel it (from the added pressure when stopping with a passenger), but otherwise it was great. 

She'd really like a backrest.  So... it looks like the only option for a backrest on the SS is a Corbin seat with the add-on backrest.  That combo is friggin' expensive.  If I want to keep riding 2-up on the 900SS, I should really invest in a set of the taller (and adjustable) Speedymoto clipons, a Throttlemeister, and a beefier rear spring.  So I start adding this crap up... and I'm back to buying a Multistroodle (with a trunk, so my bride has her backrest ).

Dangit, I really need to get debt paid off.  Student loans, one credit card (from when I was laid off last year), and the Dodge Durango I bought last fall are all strangling my cash flow.  Fahdge.    Erica would like a new sectional for the living room, a new washer, and a proper computer desk in the office.  Life is expensive.    (And we don't even have a kid yet!)

The Corbin with backrest is worth the cost.  My wife loved it on my last bike.
