we should get a group to go.  Wife and I would be in for this.

How much time will you have off? I'm taking off 2 weeks for this, and was thinking about taking the scenic route through Colorado, Utah, the Sierra Nevadas, Yosemite, but if other folks are going, I'd be happy to take a more direct route.

wife can't mount up for that long 
thinking we could fly and rent a bike in San Jose or even LA and drive up the PCH.

I have a friend I'd like to visit who lives near San Jose. We could meet up in San Jose for the ride to Monterey. Or LA, although I'd rather do SoCal on the way back home. I'm flexible, though.

I'm not going. I would never associate with a group of people that would have someone like me as a member. All do respect to Groucho Marx and Woody Allen!!
