For any of you interested, Zaster & I will be heading to the UNM South golf driving range this Thursday @ 6pm if anyone wants to come beat the crap out of some golf balls, or, see how not to swing correctly.  [laugh]   We do promise one thing, you'll have fun / laugh your ass off...and that's all that matters.     :)
I promise to make better mistakes tomorrow.

Found out that Adam picked up that nasty habit and he will be joining us...I know it will be fun if you don't mind making a fool out of yourself...I volunteer my equipment (golf equipment that is) for any non-golfers  [laugh]

I'd come, Karl, but I'm afraid your shaft might be a little short for me.   ;D

Sorry.  Had to do it.   [evil]

Actually I did. Clubs haven't been out of the garage since last ducnite @ Gardunos on the green last year.

This could get ugly.

Hope even those that don't play can come out this eve.  The weather rocks today!

I have a set of old clubs stashed in ABQ. When I get back, I'd like to get out on the course and scare the wildlife.

Forgot to mention that we cracked up Pam and screwed up her shot when we commented on your earlier post in the middle
of her swing ;D

Glad I could provide a bit of levity, even in absentia.   [thumbsup]

Golf= Weirdness. My Dad taught my brother and I the basics as kids. I gave it up in my early 20's because I couldn't control my slice and was always off by myself in the woods and the rough. I got back into it for a few years in my early 50's and turned into an average hacker- mid-90's. I would play about 20 times a year, mainly because my brother had stuck with it and was the member of a club and I could play as his guest. He's a low 80's scorer who shoots  the occasional mid-70.

The thing I like about golf is the challenge of improvement over a variety of situations: Drive, short game, putting. What I cannot stand is the ridiculous waits on public courses. At my brother's club, a foursome could play 18 in just under 3 hours. Public courses here mean 5.5 hours a round. That's not fun. I'd rather spend my time sailing and, or course, riding my Duc.

I did play once in ABQ a few years ago. I have to admit that the courses look very bizarre. Here in the Northeast, we have "parks" courses- tree-lined, rolling fairways and treacherous rough. Or, on Long Island, we have links-style courses, sandy, wind-swept and not many trees. It was strange when I played in ABQ to be standing in an elevated tee-box, looking out over an unnatural swath of green fairway sit in the middle of the mostly brown landscape.

In my next installment, I will relate the story of my most memorable golf shot.
