the spokes on the r6 wheels seem to be narrower than ducati 3 spoke wheels.

Haven`t been to my shed yet so no measuring.

In 1 of the 2 variations of discs/caliper setup I had 4mm
clearence caliper-spoke, no issues.

In my pic below I had R1 320 mm discs, now I have another setup
w 300 mm EBC on caliper adapters.

what i'm trying to figure out is the width of the rotor mounting on the hub from left to right. if i were to use the r6 wheel and rotors that have 0mm of offset, and the rotor/hub width is wider than 119mm, than it would be hard to work with.

ohhhhh my. i spent about 4 hours today on Galfer's rotor tech sheet. i exhausted. now i still have to get wheel measurements.

R6 front wheel:
Fr outside disc to outside disc: 128 mm.
Disc thickness: 5 mm.

W my Showa forks, wheel centered as original Duc wheel whithin +- 1mm,
: Center of hub to fork (fr riders POV): Right 5mm, L 10mm.
This is what you could custom fit f alignment, calipers etc.

Hope this helps in someway.

Besides the eventual yokes differences,
you also have to consider front-rear wheel alignment.
It`s not an easy task...

what rotors are you using with the 128mm measurement

EBC wave 5 mm (R1 ones had the same measurements).

ooooh man. well an r6 wheel and rotors are going to be 8-9mm too wide.   

Would it be possable to fit a complete R6 front end? triples, forks, wheels and brakes or is the stem a different size?

"brownwhale" has done this swap. he first tried the r6 triples, and found that they had a negative effect on the steering. after he crashed his bike, he hasn't been on since last year.

i almost think if i can shave a mm or 2 off the calipers that i would be safe. ß

BRAKE SITUATION RESOLVED

shaved 2 mil off the inside of the caliper. keeping OE 3 spoke brembos.

the machinist i've been working with kinda let me down. all he could do was come up with "what if " scenarios and wouldn't touch the calipers, so i found another guy.

seeing a CNC machine in action for the first time, it's breath takingly awesome. i know that not a real world.

Did you take the calipers apart to see how thick the wall that you machined is?

yeah i did. it was originally 6.01mm

Dont blame him. I mean, from an engineering perspective, the brakes need to be thick to dissipate heat and be ridgid enough to not break. So he probably has a fear of the brake calipers breaking open from al lthe heat and pressure, then you running right into a wall. And then hell have a guilty conscious. Ofcourse, from a machinist point of view, you got hire to shave 2mills off. why you want it done, is not his problem, i just know how to use the damn machine. lol

i told him i understand that he didn't want to do it. i was almost on the path of buying monoblock brembos. i called and talked to fred at yoyo and explained what i was doing, he said that's not going to hurt anything. he might be an engineer or anything, but somebody else with my same understanding.

when i ride i don't have frequent stops, not going over 70mph, and probably will never see a track. i don't think the pistons will blow out or anything, but i always do a pre-ride look over before riding anyway.

random info, but when i went to physical therapy yesterday, i was able to find out my clamp force of my hand. a mire 110lbs.
