I have seen the bar risers on ebay, I think they are Jesse Risers.  Are there any other options out there that would require little modification during install and would work with stock cable lengths?

A bar with the same rise and sweep as a Jesse Racing would work. The Jesse is at a fair price easy to install amd it really makes my 1100 more comfy.

Were any modifications needed to install the jesse bar risers?

Rotate throttle cable 180 and dremeled tabs. Super easy install and all you need is the "kit".

Just drill a new hole for the tab.  it doesn't happen easily, but alittle vibration lossens that bracket, and the throttle housing spins instead of just the throttle.  I've seen i happen on other bikes at the track, and would have hated to see it happen on the highway

A hand drill, a bit, and 60 seconds is all you need for alittle reassurance.

ROCKETMAN, thanks for the image.  Can you send one from the front showing how the cable was routed.  Did you unhook anything or just spin the throttle body?  Any other small details I would need to worry about during install?

Also, there is another post going around with there being slack in the handlebars after installing the Jese Riser on a 696, do you notice this?

I just machined this for a friend of mine and besides rising the bars 1 inch nothing else was modify.
this was done on a m696 but it'll work on a m1100.
if you like it I can sell one set to you since I have 3 more (I made 4)

The throttle bracket / cable is "wedged" so in the event the bolts loosen, it will not rotate. I suppose it could just fall off, but the tab or lack thereof will be of no help.

- Nothing to "unhook"
- Protect the tank and fender.
- Masking tape (blue) the clamps and spacer until you are 100% as reinstalling the bars can scratch the silver finish.
- Not sure what you mean by "slack", but mine feel as before, just taller.

Ok, thanks for the pics.  I am looking at my bike and they ran the throttle cable in between the brake reservoir.  I think I would either have to disconnect the fluid tube, or the throttle cable to reroute.  Can I unscrew the throttle cable without problems? 

Yes, you will disconnect the throttle cable from the tube.

Just picked up the Jese Riser on ebay for only $79.99 shipped.  Screaming deal considering he was selling them for $139 a few weeks back.  Easier price to swallow if I decide they are not for me.

Yes I did.  Very easy install.  I had a buddy help me and we were able to skip some steps in the install because of the extra set of hands to hold onto the handlebar.  Would have taken 20 minutes but the throttle cable came off the guide on the engine.  We could not figure out why there was no snap back when we were testing the throttle.  Once we noticed the mishap, everything was perfect. Took about 45 minutes due to this. 

The risers definitely make the bike more comfortable.  Takes more pressure off my wrists and coupled with really concentrating on using my legs to hold onto the tank and loosening up has made me love my bike even more.

I installed a set of these risers over the weekend and was very pleased both with the nearly matching surface finish of the risers themselves (it looks like the aluminum was media blasted to approximate the finish of the stock bar/riser) and the increased level of comfort they provide.
