Hey all Im in the market for a set of leg armors and have narrowed my choices down to two types, the Field Sheer armadillos and the Icon field armors. I have some Icon stuff and Im happy with it right now but noticed that the field sheers and the Icons look almost identical in the pics online at Newenough.com. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with either of these products or advice as to which is more comfortable or more protective.
Thanks in advance guys!

They do look near identical... Wonder if Icon and FS are owned by the same parent co... The FS armoured vest and mil spec visability stuff also looks a lot a like.

I've no FHE with either of those though. I do have the T-Pro forcefield 'limb tube' for knees. They offer two types of protectors one that just straps in place, the other which I have holds the armour in an elasticated tube, that has an additional Velcro strap to make it even more secure. That strap can be removed if you don't want it.

Though they don't cover as far down as the ones you've noted, the coverage is to the top of my boots. It's a soft sort of armour so it's quite comfortable to wear for long periods.

T-pro armour is constantly a top performer in impact absorbtion tests so I'd suggest you give them a look

+1 on T-Pro. They're the best, IMO.

I think Icon and Field Sheer get their stuff from the same cheap Chinese factory. Check to make sure they at least have CE rated pads. The last Icon stuff I looked at didn't even have that.

Anyway, I'd still buy T-Pro. You can get their armored under-layer pants for under $200.

Before I started wearing leathers I wore the Icon Field Armor .

Both the Knee/Skin and the Elbow.

They are well made and I think if you had a crash they would offer good protection where they cover you.

FWIW: I got the T-Pros and felt "soft armor" just wasn't enough. They are well made.

Wasn't enough? What'd you add in or replace it with?
