I have seen this one in real life and i think it is one of the ugliest ducs (look at those mirrors )

I definitely prefer the looks of the white-framed, red 851 above.  The multi color 851 looks like a police bike with those mirrors.

the tricolore has a lot of things you wouldn't like such as the standard forks (Marzocchi M1R's) and the funky unobtanium rotors.  the mirrors are only the tip of the 'berg for me.  the 2-piece wheels are very light but are well known to make the beast with two backs up royally with any abuse, same type as on the 900SL

the red model is a end of series model, I believe, with USD type Showas, and modern-style rotors, not to mention the updated seat/rear/side fairing setup on the full-red model.

i wouldn't kick the tricolore out of bed though.  i think you would be shelling out about $30K for that bike right now.  the red one less, maybe no more than 8-10k.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

They are all like that - mine's pretty much all put together so those promised pics will be up shortly.
