I would like it if it was a single headlight.  Wait..., is that sacrilegious for the bike?

+1 I think they make a single headlight kit for its bigger brother the Speed Triple, so maybe they will have one for this bike.

I wish they had called it the Trident instead of a Street Triple.  The Trident name would give a nod to Triumph's first triples.

It looks like this is going to be the best thing that ever happened to the naked bike segment.  Seriously, why would you buy a 696 with this bike in the picture.  Both bikes have questionable aesthetics, but the Triumph has so much more fun built into it.  It also costs less and doesn't have any lean running fuel injection snafus.

Both bikes are great, I've chosen the 696 because of it's pedigree.
Mine don't have any fuel injection issues.

The Street Triple is an incredible machine, but I got tired of waiting & after 6 months took back my deposit and purchased an S2R 1000.
PLus - unless you got in early on the pre-order, Triumph dealers don't have a way to let you know where your bike is in the build process or when it might arrive.
really frustrating for both dealers and buyers.
No regrets with the S2R, but the Streety is super cool.

Meh, I don't like it. That engine doesn't lend itself to a naked bike look to me...
That didn't stop people from buying S4 monsters.  You can't see it from the saddle anyway. ;)

I would be seriously looking at one, but out here in Oregon it is tough to get one.  The '08 stuff seems to be gone around here and '09 will be here ??????  Also, my dealer says as much as a $1000 price jump for '09, still better than a 696 out the door around here.

Look out for the Street Triple R for 2009.

Look out for the Street Triple R for 2009.

Nothing but a rumor now, they can't even supply the demand for a standard model yet.  It would be an easy progression though, since the daytona suspension is a direct bolt one replacment.  Not sure how they would approach the HP increase though.

I stand corrected, and you;re more of a triumph guy than I.   [laugh]

I guess I've been too busy riding to keep up with the intrawebs.  You monster folk are quicker than the 675 guys for sure.  That is why I come here.

I noticed they mentioned dropping the green, am Im glad I bought when I did cuz that was a major reason in wanting the bike.  I fell in love with the color on the old 955 speed trips.

-Especially when you put side vents + radiator covers on it..  :-X

-No seriously I like the street/speed triples as far as street-fighter styling, but the engine itself certainly isn't as sexy as a desmo twin IMO...

In the UK if u order 1 Today the dealers are quoting  Jan 2009 Delivery, they cant build them fast enough. But New production line in thailand near me is coming on stream in September which will help.

I haqve ridden one they are a hoot ,fantastic power spread and flexibility for a 675 torque like a 1000cc handling is exemplary but the bike lacks soul.

One of my riding buddies is on a '06 T-100 Bonnie... he had it in the local Triumph dealer for work and they let him take out a Street Triple for the day.  By his account, it was an absolute blast.

That said, he hasn't ridden my M900 yet.... maybe I'll set him up with a ride and post a lil' comparo.

This is what I love about the DMF. Here is a thread about Triumph and not one soul here bashed. I went over to one of the Triumph sites to say hello to the Triumph folks I ran into while riding the canyons, but was quickly attacked by Ducati haters. I removed my post and my account.   [thumbsup]

I too was looking for an S3 back around '05. They could never promise me a black one...
