I love three gun matches. OK, I haven't done one in a while but they are really cool. I refuse to say I competed in them, would rather say I "participated in them". In no way was I ever up for a trophy or prize or anything! Just good stuff and fun!

That is what it's all about. Train hard, test your skills, get you ass handed to you, and train harder.  ;)

If you don't want to play that game with him then I guess my question is answered.

What's more true than that? Train harder is the rule! [thumbsup] Expect shit to go wrong and base your training on that. No expert advice here, just dumb luck. Always train on what you are bad at. If you are bad at tactical mag reloading then practice that! And practice whatever makes you a more proficient shooter!

That's a mag in the gun before the other mag drops past his belt.  [evil]

I have a Crimson Trace laser on my Glock 27. I wonder what the professional gun guys (military/police) think of these lasers.

Anybody?

Lasers are more intimidation then anything. They are great on the taser as a suspect knows the wires are shortly to follow. Seems to make them take the funny looking taser a bit more seriously.

I carry a TLR2 (weaponlight with laser) on my duty weapon now simply because I got it super cheap. I have a Surefire X300 on my desk right now to replace it. The X400 has a laser but I opted not to get it because after carrying the TLR2 for a couple years I see no need for the laser.

So...no laser.

Id like to see how fast he reloads with a stock Glock or Sig.  No mag funnel!

Sevigny can definitely shoot.

Next time he is in town doing a clinic / appearance at the big gun club, going to try to have my wife set up a private shooting lesson with him given the past relationship she had with his brother. She always said Dave was really cool.

He got into guns pretty much like all of us. He just liked shooting, shot a ton of rounds, and got good.

I am sure there was some instruction thrown in there somewhere.

My brother also "participated" in some 3 guns events. I highly respect anyone that can simply switch from different firearms in a split second. With my very limited experience with handguns/shotguns/AR's/bolt action I find it difficult just concentrating on just being accurate with one.

I did one of those Glock Shooting competitions when I was in college.

I am sure we've all heard of them. Glock Sport Shooting foundation maybe?

You pay your xx.xx and you shoot for two days and get scored.

I am pretty damn sure I finished dead last.

Doesn't matter. Did you have fun? Did you learn anything? There you go, that's what matters. [thumbsup] It's funny to see what a crowd watching you shoot and a PACT timer can do to your shooting ability. It adds that extra little bit of stress you can never get at the range. And that's a good thing as far as training goes. [thumbsup] Again, who cares if you finished beyond last place. In some shoots I felt like I should have timed with a calender (... like my riding! [laugh]) but I always had fun and enjoyed the like minded company and always appreciated the tips and advice. All good stuff.

Fast guy's are just that. The kit he is using certainly helps, but with a stock gun he would
be faster than us on any given day.  ;)

For example, here is Dave running basically a stock Glock (sights and trigger work) no large mag well. Wearing a cover garment. Like I said fast guys are just fast.
