That's a mag in the gun before the other mag drops past his belt.  [evil]

I need to find some 3-gun around here.  Those whirlygig targets are tough!

Yes, but you first have to drop one before you can put another in there.  Baby steps.  I try to keep my goals realistic.......... ;D

I don't shoot indoors.  I'm a member up at AGC and, besides a bowling pin shoot, they don't offer much.  That is supposed to change.  They want to do some practical tactical stuff and maybe some other competitions.  Currently they don't allow drawing from holsters, except at the bowling pin shoots, but nobody does around here.  There is an outfit up in PA that runs 3 gun comps 4 or 5 times a year.

I also plan to take a week long tactical carbine course at Gunsite in AZ.  They have a great class and facility.  I think me and my bro-in-law that lives in AZ will sign up for one perhaps this fall.

Both my brother's are in town this weekend and we are going to go shoot some Trap/Skeet whatever you want to call it.

Converting my 870 Express back to a normal looking shotgun and I have my Benelli Supernova as well.

I also confirmed with the gun club that we can use the Saiga

[laugh] [laugh]

If anyone misses with that thing........they have problems.

I went to Wally World and priced out ammo. 23$ for 100rnds. Not bad.

the question:

Do you use 7 1/2 or 8 shot for clay pigeons?

Probably 8?

Doesn't really matter on size IMHO.  My range limits you to trap loads under 1200 FPS due to proximity to a roadway.  That is pretty common.  Might want to check with the range before you go buy a ton of fast wing shooting loads.

Angler,

Good for you on Gunsite! You'll have a blast and yes they do have a nice facility. I was going to go once when Col. Cooper was still alive but my business schedule messed up the whole deal. I did get to meet him years ago at a SHOT show. It was an honor.

I've had lots of friends over the years take Gunsite classes and loved it. Closest I've gotten to Gunsite since is classes with Clint Smith and Louis Awerbuck, both came from Gunsite. Enjoy the class, bet you learn a lot!

cb,

71/2 or 8 will work just fine on clays. Big difference between trap and skeet. I'm mediocre at both but both are fun. Sporting clays is the biggest hoot and yeah, I'm mediocre at that too! [laugh]

I already checked on that  [thumbsup]

This place is in the sticks and has nothing behind it but woods.

Wouldn't 8 shot be better as I get more pellets in there verse 7 1/2? I really have no idea about shotgun ammo outside of Slugs and 00 Buck.
