Inspired by Triangleforge's riding dad thread, I snapped a few of his ship.
It was a gift from me about twenty years ago. At first he wasn't too happy, this ship comes as a pile of wood, he knew it was going to be a test of his patience. I knew that he always wanted to build one, so I challenged him.

It took him several years, sometimes getting sick of it, but he has been happy and proud that he
managed to complete it at last.

It's now in his room at his retirement home and I know he will be excited to read what you guys have to say about it [thumbsup]

That ship is awesome. [thumbsup]

Did he have to make the sails also?

That's amazing!  What's the dimension of the ship?  Name and year of the ship?  Maker?  I have been fascinated with model building since I was a kid.  Mostly just war planes an cars (motorcycles recently).  I had always dreamed about building a ship like this.  This is truly magnificent!  Compliment to your father and his craft!

Thank you! I'm really sorry - I have no information about the original ship. It's 30 inches tall.

Wow!

That is amazing.  I certainly don't have the patience or the manual dexterity to complete something like that.

Good on ya, stopintime's Dad!   [thumbsup]

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

Excellent build...I have never had that kind of patience

This is an insult to the Pez community

That shows a level of patience I hope to achieve one day  [laugh]

It looks really impressive, monumental effort.

If someone had of given a model like that to me, I would have started, gotten pissed off and then taken it to the backyard...

And set it on fire! [evil]  all In less than 10 minutes!  ;D

superjohn

That is so completely badass!! Nice work to your pops.  [thumbsup]

Pfft. He should have built it in a bottle.

Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

That's an amazing piece of work! [clap]

wow.  really nice.

I tried to start model building to work on my patience, but the kids don't give me time.  they want to 'help.'  I have a couple 1/2 started ones in their boxes, just waiting for me to finish.

still haven't learned much patience.
My fast lap is your sighting lap.

Duck-Stew

I couldn't have done that.

Well, I couldn't have done that build as a stocker.  I would've modified it somehow....  Tail-chop, Termi-cannons, CF sails...  Sumptin' other than a pure stocker.   ;D ;D ;D

Very nicely done.  Props to you, good sir!  [thumbsup]

Crongratulations Stopintime's far! Selvfølgelig Vikings har vært Ã¥ bygge skiber i Ã¥rhundrer, men dette er virkelig en utmerket arbeid! Slike detaljer! Du mÃ¥ være veldig stolte av!   (Och ursäkta mig för min dÃ¥liga australisk-svensk-norsk  :)).
