I'm just curious why we (NEMHA) can never seem to get together for rides or group get togethers? In the past there would be a pretty good turnout on Thursdays at Moto Market or if someone posted a group ride at least a few members would make an effort to meet.

To be honest, I would be a little embarrassed if any of the other local boards ever looked here to see what we are up to. If you look at the other local boards there is almost always something going on whether it be a weekly meeting or a group ride. At last check, and according to DuCaTini's role call thread we're up to 84 members here and yet we almost never get together. I have seen a few threads started by some of the newer members asking about others to ride with but very few of us ever respond.
We have some of the nicest roads in the country to ride on (western MA, NH, VT) and we have a very short riding season so why not take advantage of it?

I would love to ride with other monster owners. I have 2 young children so its hard to get out and go for long rides. but if anyone is willing to meet in the lakes region for a couple hours on the weekends i would be up for it.

I like to ride but I'm not one of those "live to ride, ride to live" type guys.  I take my bike to work on nice days and enjoy a breakfast ride on alot of Sundays. ( starting around 7ish and ending by 11)

I got bit by the track bug so alot of my riding has been at Loudon. I have even considered giving up street riding for track addiction. Maybe next year.

I'm a beach guy.... On nice weekends I'm enjoying the surf, sand, and bikinis!!!

I also tend to ride late in the season. Gage (Stefan) and I usually take a 350+ mile ride through the NH back roads. Sometimes we are icicles by the time we get home.

How about th DIMBY get together?  If you look at the guest list .... Only a handful of NEHMA's are showing up. 

I do agree with you Tom. I think even a get together for a few beers here and there is a good idea.

  NESR (new England street riders) has a good group of people that get together often.  I've been attending a few bbq's and had fun. Some guys are meatheads but most are cool.

We had a good turnout at the Mount Washington ride - 12 bikes (9 Ducatis). We're planning a ride to Provincetown which I'll post up as well.

I haven't made it out to Acton on Thursdays yet because I spend a lot of my time within Boston itself. But I'm always up for rides if people ping me.

i am so pressed for time these days that when i get the chance to go on an extended ride, its usually a last minute thing.

there is almost no way i could plan far enough in advance to do a group ride. in fact, i had to do some serious advance planning starting last December to make sure i could make it to DIMBY this summer.

i would also add that the NEMHA group is pretty spread out across the northeast IMO....we aren't all a short ride from one another.

freeport monster rider, recently relocated to maine. bought an old house which is consuming every cent second i have.

only been on two rides so far this summer....perhaps i will get out tomorrow if the weather looks decent.

will be riding over for DIMBY on the 23rd (late am) if anyone wants to join me. [moto]

i too am so pressed for time lately, and anything during the week is really out of the question. i also agree with herm, that we are really spread out as a group, i'm in CT the Moto Market meetup is 2 hours each way for me. i'm also pretty content riding with my husband on the weekends, and the yearly dimby jamboree and ride.

You only get embarrassed if you care what people think.

I was going to go to Moto Market tonight, then I came to work and discovered today is Friday. 

where is DIMBY?  i'm in central CT near hartford and would love to go for a ride with some other people on here   admittedly i'm more likely to go somewhere if it's 30 min or under to meet up with some other people, before venturing off to where ever.
