So i ride everyday. 50 odd kms. not far. but enough to get bored of listening to the dammed traffic, trucks and sydney hustle bustle or nothing at all. Even the termis can get, dare i say it, a little monotenous. So I squigg the headphones in, but my ipod ones always fall out and give me bloody sore ears. So ive been hunting around for an alternate for sometime, read the forums, researched to buggery. The moulded ones while nice are bloody exxy. So this led me to the Tork Xpro's.

They arrived today. Installed them into the shoe in a jiffy. So, so, so, so comfy unlike the ipod plugs that ive struggled with for sometime. Great bassy sound for little speakers, volume control and best of all dont fall out. Anyway, if your after some good headfones, these get my nod of approval. thought I'd share this experience with ya'll.

And only US$90 delivered. Booya!!!

'when in doubt apply throttle' - it may not save you, but it will end the suspense

They sound and look pretty good.
My listening things died a little while back and yep the OEM Apple ear phones are not great at all.
And really the things I had were not really comfy either. Something flush mounted in your helmet sounds
like the way to go.

I've just gone and had a look at these again after riding close to 500k's yesterday.
I'm guessing the only way you can order them is by calling?
Can't see any online ordering on the website or did you email them and sort it out via paypal.

craigo

Lemme know if you are ordering some Matty, I'll pile on and we can split shipping. I've tried so many different headphones for riding already, may as well add this to my collection.

hey folks. I just read your thread on helmet speakers. If you are already looking at buying from the states, check this link out.

i have been using these for a few years, and they work well. similar product to the OP's link, and about half the price too!

cheers!
Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

mattyvas

Thanks Herm will take a look at them also.
Do you use them while wearing ear plugs or would that be a silly comment?

And yep Craig I'll keep you posted.

ecster

I've been using Bassmonster helmet speakers for the past 5 years and the speakers have been recessed into the foam of the cheek pads.

I also use an amplifier so I can still hear the music while wearing earplugs.

Sorry for the delay. Some of us have work to do.  [roll]

I bought them straight from here. Shipping was $10.

Ive just resoldered the wires, after reducing the length, so they are always in the helmet. The plug is now sitting inside the cheak pad. Without the ghastly leed hanging out making my helmet look like a tampon string is hanging out. haha. sorry probably too graphic. But you get the drift.

I can Sennheiser to the list of headphones that don't work/break quickly. has a L shaped input jack, snaps right off. Asymmetric lengths of line so one can go round your neck, stupid.

I had some very good ones before that...they had replaceable end caps on little stalks...and one of the end caps was a mould-able ear plug, block out some engine noise, great sound. stalk snapped off..non replaceable...there goes $200 bucks!

still trying to work out my next pair.
