Touring seat owner--question for you

Two questions:

Does the cowl fit on there with a huge amount of effort?  Mine will barely go on--I have to really push and squish it to make it work, and it has a lot of strain on the holes then.

Does the seat fit the 696/1100 easily?  My pin seems closer to the tail by about 1/4" and I have to shove the seat forward and then push the pin in with a lot of effort.

My seat fit was perfect and at first the cowl was hard to get on but now the seat or the cowl has conformed and the cowl fits just fine without having to push on it.

I had the same problem.  S4rs though.  I "modified" the metal tabs with a BFH and also had to raise the seat latch to get it to lock.  Then the seat got super hot (do a search) in the sunlight so I bought new tabs and put the stock seat back on.  It is not so bad after all.  I think I'd like to try a Sargent seat sometime but I've got other priorities right now.

Thanks.  I've got an 1100 and it has no gel.  I love the seating position, I just don't want to destroy the seat or cowl to get it to work.  I am cowl-less for the moment.

assuming you have any....put it out in the sun for a while then install. My cowl fits nicely on my "touring" seat.

It = seat or cowl, or both?  in the sun...?

the gel softens up a bit in the sun.

i think that's what he meant.

but i never had issues fitting the cowl to the comfort seat.
