I have a stock carrier with driven steel sprocket.

No need for quick change carrier unless it has the nubs to keep the cush drives from backing out. Even then the driven ones are pretty snug.

Driven steel sprocket with 525 chain on S2R1000 should last atleast 20,000 miles.

Just picked up a renthal carrier today in the clearance bin for $40.   

It will be replacing the one that came on the bike when I bought it that I still have yet to identify and does not have the nubs for the Cush drives. Ask me how I know

But without a doubt the best option on the market is the AEM factory Magnesium quick change carrier, and sprocket, which complete with titanium hardware weighs only 1 pound!

That is correct, 1 pound total rotating weight from your sprocket/carrier!

This is .6 pounds lighter than the AEM Factory Aluminum quick change carrier and sprocket which is already ridiculously lightweight when compared to stock.

Top it all off with the further beautiful and lightweight hub cover/flange and you have a total weight of 1.5 pounds and your rear end looks this good-

does it have the notches? if not, then its not worth it.

The carrier is not something you see because its hidden behind the hub and if your going to replace it, replace with something that gives you function and save the bling for the hub.

It does! to hold the carrier bearings in place, so they don't back out and eat up your eccentric hub :-)
