Mmmm I'd be interested in the DP Seat if your looking to break anything up.

BadBoyBubby

can't break it up, sorry. The old seat went elswewhere.
This signature is forged.

Bits left over from my suspension and brake exploits.  Everything is from an '07 695, with 12K mileage.  There's nothing wrong with any of it - I just upgraded for higher zoot factor bits.

  • Stock Sachs shock absorber, with standard spring.
  • Crankcase breather canister, complete with hoses.
  • Suspension linkage rod - non adjustable.
  • Marzocchi forks, with 18mm of spacers (improves sag over stock), standard springs, and fresh 10wt oil.  50/54mm triple diameters, 65mm caliper spacing.
  • 2 x 300mm rotors.  Zero offset, six bolt fitting.
  • 2 x 2 pot calipers.  65mm caliper spacing.  Come with pads with oodles of life.
  • Brake lines to suit 2 pot calipers.
  • Standard coffin brake master (15mm piston), with lever.  Lever is a tad scuffed but perfectly serviceable.
  • Handlebars.  Drilled to move controls inboard by 20mm.

Make me an offer.

suzy, the forks, rotors and calipers, i'm assuming they all fit together? interested. any idea if it'll swap into a 1998 m750?

or anyone else know what is good for me?

It'd be a little complicated.  From what I've read, earlier monsters have smaller diameter axles, so some mucking around would be necessary to get the forks to play with your wheel.

i'm just thinking if what you have all fits, and the forks fit my triples, then i just need a new axle/wheel to match the forks/discs. suits me well if i can find a reason to buy a newer front wheel, if the axle that suits your forks is hollow. i want some axle/fork sliders, but nothing fits my old style axle. the hollow newer ones however...

Don't the older monsters have the speedo drive on the front wheel?  If so, you'd need to organise something to keep your speedo working, as the newer front wheels don't have the speedo drive.

bugger!

anyone got a solution?  [laugh] :(

the world clearly doesnt want me to have better suspension!

dragonworld.

You can still get dramatic improvements in suspension by fitting good aftermarket springs and get the valving redone by one of the suspension shops! I'm sure you can get plenty of suggestions here!? [thumbsup]

With brakes you can get a different more efficient/powerful caliper/master cylinder combo that will match the mounting holes on the fork lower. ;D

The single disc brake on my 750 aint too bad and can get the tyre complaining under hard braking no probs!  [thumbsup] Although it doesnt look as flash as the you beaut, twin disc, multi coloured, all singing, all dancing front ends it does the job quite well.  [clap]

Aaah the bling disease, once ya got it, ya buggered!  [laugh] [moto]
Secret to a long relationship is........Keep the fights clean and the sex DIRTY"!

Nibor

nope, i have the crappy un-rebuildable forks, cant revalve, i think can only swap springs, oil level and weight :(

dont get me wrong, it shits all over my 250 haha, and does a good job, but i want a better job.

yep, just swap out the speedo for an aftermarket one. You'll also need to machine a spacer to replace the speedo pickup

I have some Ducati Aluninium spoked wheels for sale, came from a Paul Smart .
Cant see why they wouldn't fit a monster .

If anyone in interested let me know  [thumbsup]
