Rizoma frame sliders - anyone crash them?

I'm looking at getting frame sliders for my M696 and was curious if anyone has had any experience with The Rizoma sliders in an actual crash or drop?  I think they look nice, probably the nicest of the group (for which they charge dearly, I might add), but I'm curious how well they actually protect the bike.  They don't look like they would work as well as the Speedymoto sliders and it appears that the frame would take more of the impact with the way the sliders mount.

wouldn't that snap off in a low side?
looks like it would only work if bike is sliding in the same direction inline with the frame slider.????

I've, unfortunately, had real world experience with them.  It wasn't a low-side, but a pretty serious "drop."  I impacted a guard rail at <10mph and the bike fell onto the opposite side and hit concrete and dirt.  The vertical portion of the slider bent in slightly, but it still protected my tank, engine case and rear sets from damage.

If I still felt the same way about their looks, I would've replaced them with another pair.  But I decided I liked the look of the SpeedyMotos more and they were cheaper.

Thanks for the feedback, guys!  I appreciate it.  If there is anyone else out there with the Rizoma sliders, I'd love to hear from you, too.

I've got the same frame sliders on order at the moment for my hypermotard, I looked around at the other types and decided to go with the rizoma ones as they looked the the option.. [thumbsup]

I have seen the speedymoto sliders work very well on racebikes at the track at speed. They work as they are designed to do.They are race proven and BGB approved! [thumbsup]

+1 on the speedymotos. I also liked the Cycle Cat sliders - they're a bit chunkier but quite similar to the speedymotos (and have a set new in the box in my garage. I should really clean stuff up and throw a thread in the parts for sale forum).

+2 on the Speedymotos, I had a slide whem a pedestrian decided to come out in between two parked cars. Bike slid on the pucks and had no damage at all. Ordered new pucks and that was it.

Thanks guys!  In the end I couldn't justify the price of the Rizoma frame sliders.  Of the more traditional sliders I went with the slightly more subtle Motovation sliders over the Speedymoto's.  I did go with Rizoma for my axel sliders, though.  Now to get everything installed...

ManOrAstro-Man?

I've got the Rizoma axel sliders as well. They're the best I've seen out there. Rizoma did a great job on those.

Received the rizoma frame sliders today from Chris at Desmoworld, fit and finish are top dollar.. [bow_down] I just hope that I never have to test them.. ;) ;)

okay i COMPLETELY retract that last statement.  They saved the motor, but not the tank. frame is okay, but you understand what i mean about the design though. The frame mount isnt cracked or warped in anyway because all the pressure is on that lever arm [laugh]
