Funny how the last two years we played USC in the second week, the two years before that it was texas, the next two years are Miami, the two after that VT, and then Tenn.  Lots a cake walk teams there.  No Jud, OSU does it right.  Ask Florida about cake walk Septembers.

Shows you how much I watch OSU  ;D

What year did they play Bowling Green and Youngstown State and I think OU all within a month or so?

Miami also tries to schedule the tougher games early so that if they lose, they have enough time to game back positions in the BCS standings. For years now they've played FSU as early as possible, considering them their top rivals. Now since the power shift, not sure what they will do. I'm looking forward to Catholics vs Convicts.

Scary like Tebow's new hair cut or scary like Tebow weeping?

I have to admit, Tebow's friar-haircut was hilariously appropriate  ;)

I am guessing you are referring to Notre Dame vs Miami?

Every team plays lesser opponents to pad their stats and generate home game money.  At least OSU and most other good teams schedule a tough opponent to have a marquee game every year.

What gave it away?

I've heard it used in different ways before.

I grew up in SB, so I always knew it as ND vs. Miami

(I was at the game in 1988 when ND won 31-30 over Miami. That was a sweeeeeeeet game)

Still remember when they stopped that two point conversion at the end; Pat Terrell's defense was awesome.

Yes, I was only 8 then, but I vividly remember that game. Some things just stick with you in life.

(Mother - true story too. I have the ticket stub at my parents house; it is actually signed by Tony Rice and Pat Terrell when i attended a hockey game one night later that year or early into 1989. I always took it to the games as a lot of the Football players would attend hockey games, so always would try to find guys from that team to sign it. Michael Stonebraker might have also signed it, but I don't remember)

I didn't become a fan of Miami until I moved here and my wife actually attended. I did not convert until I actually went to watch a game at the Orange Bowl. That was my first "top level" footbal game.

At the time of that game I was actually a ND fan and my buddy was a huge Miami fan. I gave him shit for weeks. Being an ND fan after the Lou Holtz era is painful. I will always root for them as long as they're not playing against Miami.

I was too, but what little kid growing up in south bend during the Lou Holtz era didn't want to play for them when they got older?

I am not the biggest person, so I always dreamed of being a kicker.....so Reggie Ho was my guy.

My dream was realized as I kicked two years in high school and actually was good.

would have played in college, but wasn't medically cleared due to my shoulder.

Both!

SI or Sporting News ranking Miami over Florida could only be the result of extreme delusion ;)

Seems like I was wrong about SI.  Those guys are outstanding reporters!

Guess who their pick to win the Heisman is? ;)

Also, Florida #4 in their top ten  Miami not in the top ten.  Sorry  :'(

1 week and counting folks.  I can't wait to watch some college football.

Also, the Big Ten is getting ready to make a huge mistake by splitting up Iowa and Wisconsin, Ohio State and Michigan into different divisions.

Now the OSU/UM game will just be another game in October rather than the last game of the year. Really makes me furious.  :-X

Pryor is not winning the Heisman.
He sucks.

Never understood in my 6 yrs 9 months in Ohio why the hatred for Michigan..........?

Is it because U of M is a much better academic school? (true statement.....look on paper)

$$$$$ for the "conference championship".

It's shameless too.

I might be a SEC fanboy, but in this case - the big10 needs to take a page from our playbook.

Two biggest rivalries in the league:
- Florida & Georgia, world's largest outdoor not-a-cocktail party - same division
- Alabama & Auburn, the iron bowl - same division

The SEC championship games stands on its own merit. Any two teams who make it will generate enough interest for great ratings.

Personally, I DON'T like seeing rematches in conference championship games.

rockaduc

Predictions:

Miami 27
Ohio State 24

Another SEC team wins the NC.
