I just saw that. I have the race recorded and have not yet watched it. I'm not sure I want to now. Isn't this the first MotoGP fatality?

Povidius

R.I.P.

I can't get the crash out of my head.  Its so traggic to watch a young kid die... he had so much talent and a bright future.

This is horrible for the family and friends.  May God comfort them all.

:'(

R.I.P.  Really sad to see this happen, sounded like it was very specific circumstances that led to the accident being fatal.

RIP  That was a nasty crash.

Read it online.

He died the same one that kid in Indy did, being struck after crashing.

RIP.

that was a horrific crash, you really don't expect anyone to be alive after such a nasty crash, he was run over by two bikes going full bore with no time at all to change direction or react.  Hopefully the other riders involved won't blame themselves at all.

sad day for motogp.

well...1st...this was Moto2...and it is the 1st Moto2 fatality ( and hopefully the last)...but there have been Grand Prix deaths in the past...the last being Daijiro Kato in '03 IIRC.

many heartfelt wishes for comfort and consolation to the family and friends of Shoya.

if you can avoid watching I would. They replayed it a few times and I regret not looking away. Sad season in general.

for morbid reasons aside...I rewound it and rewatched it just to try and make sense of what exactly happened....he was tracking to the otherside of the tracks boundary white line and from the way it looked, on the gas, he lost the rear when it spun up on the green ( artificial turf or sprayed green slick concrete, not sure what it is-but it certainly wasn't grass based on the black marks left on it)and thus the chain reaction started which if he didn't have Redding and De Angelis RIGHT there, he would have just had a high speed lowside...
