That should be called feetball.  

'mericans play "football" as opposed to "futball" because the feet are used in all aspects of the game in order to move the ball to the opposing end zone.

When asked how did I get here I would respond "by foot." It is for this reason that we Americans call our sport football. Being derived from european Rugby, initially forword passes were not permitted and therefore the only way to move the ball downfield was by foot.

I'm not saying that european "football" (soccer) is incorrectly named, but that does not automatically mean that american "football" is incorrectly named. Therefore both can be considered correct.

And also in your explanation you omitted the fact that americans bastardized rugby into what you call Football. Maybe football should be called forward passing rugby maybe?
