I will try to get a sound clip posted. Unfortunately, all I have that can be used as a recorder is my phone. I am not sure what kind of quality that will produce.

So I took the bike for my first ride with the new exhaust. Although it might just be in my head, the bike feels q lot smoother in the low range.

Here is the best I could do in terms of an audio clip.  I don't think my camera was able to capture a lot of the low frequency audio.  The exhausts has a much more deep sound than what is in the clip. They definitely are not as loud as people think they will be.  Mark ships them with a lot of baffling.  This might also address some of the back pressure issues some people are concerned about.  I would think with the amount of baffling in the pipes, there should not be any issue with lack of back pressure.  Of course, I am no expert of the issue.

You can hear some of the low tones sneaking past the clack clack of your clutch... but not much :p And those are nowhere near as loud as the baffle-less boomtubes of the past. I likey.

In person, the exhaust is louder than the clutch, but nearly as loud as the original BoomTubes I have heard in clips.  I think the recording device picked up the higher frequencies of the clutch noise better than the exhaust.  I tried to compensate by putting it closer to the exhaust output.  I guess my future as an audio engineer is limited. 

If you prefer them louder, the baffles are easy to remove (a single screw).  Mark says they can be removed and drilled to any desired amount of baffling.  I have not tried running the bike without the baffles in. I am guessing it would be ridiculously loud.

the audio quality of your exhaust clip would be much better if you placed the camera 15-20 feet away from the bike itself in the direction that the exhaust is firing.

If you are on a budget, I would start saving for a new rear tire, it is looking pretty squared off!  Maybe a dual compound to get some more life out of it.

The rear tire is a casualty of a 4k road trip I took recently.  It was all back roads, but there is only so many twisties you can string together to cross five states in a reasonable period of time.  I already have my next set of tires picked out, Metzler Z6's.  I like the way they handle and I can get a few more miles out of them then the BT016's.

Damn - I'm liking the sound, and look, of those tubes.  Time to start working on the budget...

I told myself I was done with mods for now.  But after looking at those stock rearset for the past week, I broke down and ordered a pair of the Sato rearsets in black.  As I was ordering them, I told myself that is it for now  ;D  It should really clean up the back end.

The O2 sensors are still there.
