I've got one.  Riding out there with Roger in his truck so I can pick up the KTM,  I'm game for riding back though.
I thought you were going to be my passenger :'(

[laugh] all my fooling around will eventually get me into trouble
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out-- Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me--and there was no one left to speak for me.

Ok so here is my first attempt to a route to Ducpond. Google maps show a distance of 78 miles and a time of 2:13.

I also thought of a bit longer but more interesting route. This one takes 1/2 hour longer but goes along Bucklodge, Old Houndred, Thurston, and Lily Pons. [evil]

In both cases we'll stop at the Shell right outside Jefferson, MD and then we hit 340 almost until Harpers Ferry. Then it's Chestnut Hill, to RT9 to Charlestown to Summit Point and finally Winchester.

If we take the "fun" route then I would suggest meeting at 9:30 so we can get going sooner. As for the return route I plan most of the same unless we're tired and we want to take the shortest route.

Is anyone else coming from the south?  I will be taking a route up 610 around the backside of Quantico base, then just north of Warrenton, then up the 17 if anyone else wants to ride along.  It's about a 2 hr trip and 76 miles.

You could pick up some parts from my motofest map as well. Gathland pass is just north of your route and is a decept bit of road.

Though I'm on travel for a good cause... I really like going to this event. Soome say 'Hi' to Donnie for me.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

Hit Gathland last week on the way to the Italian Bike Fest and loved it [thumbsup].

Ideally I would do Gapland -> Trego -> Chestnut Grove -> Harpers Ferry. That's 3 & 1/2 hours tho, so I'm concerned that by the time we get to Ducpond we'll be too tired to do any demoing.

Or too late to get a slot on anything...

If it's just years past they have a sign up sheet with time slots. At the appointed times they start calling names. Obviously the later you arrive, the less open slots there are. But, a couple years back, when the 848 was the new hotness, I lucked into a slot, as the person who signed up, was not in the lot at the designated time. As the day crept on, there were more no-shows... but you don't want to count on that.

This route includes Gapland, Harpers Ferry Road, etc... it's an awesome ride, but by the time I get to Ducpond all I look forward to is rest, food and a massage.

I don't care if I'm surrounded by hot chicks ushering me to ride a DesmoSedici, for me it'll still be rest, food, massage ;)

There'd be room on the trailer for it.  I plan on riding the SD back to town, and we both know that at least two bikes fit on that trailer.
