Betty Rage

got some new ink done yesterday for the charity "to write love on her arms" (http://www.twloha.com/)

I had "love" tattoo'ed amidst some scars that I put there myself a few years ago. I thought it was appropriate to turn a product of my own hate into love. I suffered from self-injury in high school and in my early 20's. It's something that never fully goes away and will always be a temptation for me. The artist is cool enough to be tattoo'ing love on people's arms who give a $25 or more donation to the cause. I wish I had this when I was suffering the most, so I participated. It's nice to have a daily reminder now. :)

Here's the ink:

I posted it on my facebook with this caption:
"for all the kids who have ever felt hopeless and alone. For everyone who's ever felt there is no other way. For the girls and guys afraid to go to school because they are "weird" or "different", to all the people who felt damaging their bodies will make the pain in their hearts go away. For anyone who was ever made to feel like they are sinful, wrong, or going to hell because they are gay... this is for you. You are loved."

Lethe, where do you go?
A guy near Scranton, TattooYou.It's a little shop in a little strip mall but does good work if you can put up with his nonstop chatter.
What I have probably isn't a good example of his work as I came up with what mine look like.  [laugh]

The 'Rock the Ink' tattoo convention is in town this weekend...  Hehehehe....  I'm shopping for someone to finish what the guy in CA started.  I can't feasibly make it out there to have him finish and he's super expensive too...

Oh, and I've got some ideas that may turn into more ink.  [thumbsup]

To the lovely woman who posts here as 'Betty Rage':  Love indeed.  Love yourself, Love thy neighbor, Love thy stranger, Love the world.  You're an inspiration, and if I make it up to P-town, it would be my pleasure to meet You, Your family & friends and buy you a beer.  [thumbsup]

Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing; however, they can still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Maybe I did...  I don't remember his name, and I think he rode an Aprilia, but am not sure...   ;D
