Wow, some nice machining there!! Great stuff guys, love it! Just to add, my Leo vince with the Db killers installed is pretty much like the termis with the ends cut out, it is straight through just right at idle and when you open up, it gets the Ducati boom!! No waking up neighbours, lets not be like the "other" V twin riders, that is why we got Ducs, a class above!!

Here is my other bike (besides the M1100) and us "other" V-Twin riders aren't all a-holes just like all duc riders aren't saints.  Not starting a war, just sayin'......

Hey that's quite some motor you got driving that there belt sander  [cheeky] ;).

Seriously, although its so much Not My Style that I struggle to comprehend......  I can appreciate the quality of the work and the obvious fastidiousness with which its kept  [thumbsup].

Thanks UNG.  I forgot to add, these pipes have baffles in them!  So we all are happy.  It is quite loud when you hammer it, though.

Chris:

I sent you and email on termi pipes and would like to purchase the baffle end.  The M 1100 termi is 1.91" in outside diameter.  The stock inside exhaust pipe is 0.5".  I think a 1" would sound perfect but a 0.75" may have enough db.

I am ready to order if you are ready to mfg.

Thanks

Hi,

Same 'problem' with M696... or with neighbours.  [roll] Any before/after or with and w/o soundclips available ?

Get new neighbors.   [laugh]

Chris:

PM sent to you on purchase of baffle for M1100.

Thanks  Lowhog

Thanks for posting this exhaust mod.  I did it to the db killers on my 696 this past weekend and I'm very happy with the results.  Volume went from an 11 to about a 6 or 7.  A lot less popping on no throttle down a hill as well.  Still has the nice growl that isn't there stock.

I have the same problem with my Leo Vince CF Oval Evo IIs.  Silencer installed, too quiet.  Silencer out, too loud (for the neighbors).  The Leo Vince silencers looks exactly the same as the Termis except it doesn't have any end caps, just a straight tube with a flange.  I figure I can 1) cut the length of the tube smaller or 2) drill holes in the side of the tube.  I don't think I can remove the flange or the ring as that's where the bolt is for mounting.

Anyone go with the Desmoworld dB killers from Chris?

How did they go?

GoingDown

I am interested in the Desmoworld inserts as well.  Their website lists "out of stock."

What size did you guys order?

Hi everyone.  I know this is an old thread but thought I'd give it a shot.  I'm in the same situation.  No DB killer is too loud and Termi DB killer is too soft.  I have a 2009 Monster 696 but my DB killers look different.

So, looks like the bottom is already open.  I could try some holes on the tube so that I can take some small steps to get to the sound I like or I could just jump to the later part of the mod and just go for the ring.  Did anyone else's killers look like this?  Is this the 696 version versus the 1100?

Thanks.

OH YEAH!!!  I just did this mod with my EVO 1100 termis.  My biggest challenge was how was I going to get through the weld.  Used a hacksaw, worked great and only took 10 minutes to do both DB killers.  The cylinder just fell out once the weld got cut through.  Very easy.  Now the exhaust sounds PERFECT.  Snarly and deep without being obnoxiously loud and attention hogging.  If I ever do want it louder I guess I can always remove them.  Before modification, they were just too quiet in.  Great thread!
